Notes: Okay, I know this is kind of short, but bare with it, it's a drabble-ish kind of one shot. Hope you like it – School starts up again tomorrow – ugh L and so I'm going to be stuck with exams and such... might be slow at updating maybe... reviews are appreciated! Take care!
It's hard to drift out of consciousness when you know you're going to be judged on your family is it Sirius Black? When you don't have a chance to single yourself out and try to make yourself less of a prejudice person because you're not given a shot. It's hard to sleep when you know you're not going to be anything other than a snake and considered as a dark person, isn't it?
It's not nearly as easy to sleep when you know one of your best friends is going to be ripping himself apart under the light of the full moon – Is it Sirius? There's an ache in your chest as you keep remembering what your friend Remus can do to himself so easily without as much as a thought to resist. At least you get to keep your mind all the time, right?
You don't want to sleep when there's a war going on around you, because you know all of those innocent people are dying don't you Padfoot? You want to get up and help – but it's not that easy, you can do so much until you're literally sending yourself to your own death. After all no one is ever truly immortal are they?
You can't sleep when your soul is being toyed with every few minutes can you, convict **390? After all with the dementors feeding you all of your worst memories as well as the whole 'Your ex-best friend murdered one of your other best friends' dilemma of course. It's hard to close your eyes when you can so easily relive everything that has happened isn't it?
It's so difficult to sleep when you're on the run from people who want to lock you away isn't it Mr. Escaped Convict? With both Dementors and Aurors out after you there's no doubt that even a wink of sleep will have you back in Azkaban within seconds isn't there? And after all, you have so much to lose if they do catch you, don't you?
You can't close your eyes with the feeling that your trapped, can you Sirius Black?Being stuck where you started – once again – in your childhood home isn't what you thought of as an ideal home isn't it?
Too busy lying awake to sleep right?
