Taking it in

The newly appointed World Guardian exits Guthix's Cave in a daze.

Everything that had just happened was so surreal, but those images refuses to leave her mind be. Changing out of her heavy armor and into full tasks set, the adventurer decided that she needed a walk, badly.

While slowly headed north, the adventurer begins to try to make sense of it all.

It all started so simple, a pristine and untouched set of ruins, ripe for adventure, like many times before.

Ironic that just like several instances before, her well-intended actions caused the situation to become worse.

A king lost both children, a cleric doomed to be a wight, a decimated resistance, an evil cult was helped and successful, a national treasure was stolen, a hero unable to return home for all his services, Entrana was broken in and a relic was stolen, two sealed away Mahjarrat were freed, an elder weapon was stolen by another Mahjarrat, having pledged loyalty to the vampire overlord of Morytania, the citizens of three nations are still living under fear and oppression, two guardians slain, a good king is murdered, a city is razed, seven great friends and allies are killed and now… Now a god is dead.

"All I've wanted," the adventurer thought morosely as memories of those instances replayed in her mind, "was to become a hero."

For a while, the adventurer know nothing but the soft rustling of grass under her boots and the wind thru the leaves of the trees. Hang on…. Why does it seem like these few green trees constantly have water dripping out of them?

With that, the adventurer switches back to conscious perception of her surroundings. She notices a chilly breeze on her skin, caught a whiff of salt in it, and noticing that this area has less trees.

An area not unfamiliar to her in the north, she notes that she's close to the city of Rellekka and close to her house. That in of itself is not alarming until the new World Guardian realizes something is wrong…..

At the leisurely pace that she had been walking, it should've taken about a week to transverse the distance. The adventure is almost afraid of the answer,

"How come I didn't feel hungry or tired at all?!"

She then at that very second realized how Guthix had given her some of his power to use as she saw fit.

"Have I become a god? The one to take Guthix's place?"
