In the end, she was just a machine. Nothing more nothing less and yet some much more. A manmade object, built by man, to use by man, a wonderful, no beautiful machine that couldn't fulfill his heart's desire.

Hideki tried to convince himself of this; he desperately tried to curb the foreign feeling that emerged whenever he thought of her.

His Chii. Only a fool would fall for something that wasn't human, then again he was always being called a dummy. A bittersweet smile graced Hideki's lips, and he continued to walk down the deserted streets.

Thoughts like these had invaded his mid, and they ate away at Hideki's soul.

She is a robot, so has no heart, no soul. But the way she looks at me, her amber eyes filling with emotion, her smile that lights up her face like sunshine. When I am gone, she will find a new master and serve his wishes.

Hideki raised his face to the sky, letting the first flakes of snow brush his lips, just as Chii had done. Once… only once… It had happened once.

A slight brush of their lips that had lasted longer than need be. He vividly remembered pulled her closer, gently placing one hand behind her swan-like neck and pulling her closer to him. His need for contact with the women, if that's what she was, overcame him, but it was fleeting, as dawns rays.

It wasn't what he wanted. No passion was to be found in Chii's kiss. Was it that she didn't learn how or was it that she couldn't hold passion? It was robotic; her lips were cold.. oh so cold. Their kiss proved exactly what his heart denied. Realization caused his already fragile soul to fractured, it broken into an infinite number of pieces. She can't love. Ignorance is bliss as the wise man always said.

Hideki bit his lip, tasting the salty tang of blood; he was a man at war with himself. Snow continued to fall, silently adding winter touch to the world around him. He legs collapsed, black hair cascading around his face, the tears freely falling around his cinnamon skin.

"She will never love her the way I love her... Manmade... That's all you are Chii! Why, god WHY must you torment me!" His laments tore through the air, knives with not a target in sight. He hands tore at the ground destroying snow and hitting the hard, impenetrable asphalt. Then, an epiphany struck him.

The way to end this tormenting heartbreak it could be over in a second. Blindly Hideki ran through the streets, overcome by agony. That's all he reaped from this love. It would he been easier, better on him if she where human, and his love lay unrequited.

He arrived at their- soon to be his, home, tears streaming down his face, gasping, trying provide precious oxygen into his burning lungs. There she was, white blonder hair cascading down like rain down her petite womanly frame. Large amber eyes gazed upon him and she smiled, warm, welcoming, almost loving.

"Welcome home Hideki" She chanted and ran arms out stretched hair flailing in every direction.

"Hideki, I learned a new word today… it is Aishiteru!"

"Chii… I'm so sorry." Hideki whispered in her ear.

He slipped his fingers down to the one place that would free her of him and him of her.

"Hideki… Aishit-" her amber eyes dulled, and she fell into his arms.

Hideki wept for her, and for what he had just done.

"Aishiteru Chii… I love you.."
