Rain
Like most Monday nights, Jade was once again crashing in Beck's RV. Beck would admit that she is a good bunkmate, sleeping through the night with an occasional kick every once in a while. But there was one exception…
With an exasperated sigh, Jade threw the covers aside and folded her arms across her chest with a huff, turning on her side.
Beck, who had been just starting to doze off, pulled the covers from where they had landed on his face and sat up. "Something wrong?" he asked her wryly.
"There's stupid thunder and lightening outside, Beck. I can't sleep." she answered crossly.
Beck smiled and lay back down, tucking his arms underneath his head. "I like the rain. It's so peaceful and calm. It actually helps me sleep, believe it or not."
"What are you, 60?" Jade asked. "We have school tomorrow, in case you didn't remember. And I need to SLEEP!"
Beck suppressed a sigh. "Jade," he said patiently. "I can't make it stop raining, babe. You know that."
Her only answer was turning onto her stomach and covering her head with a pillow. Beck heard a muffled groan from under the down as another rumble of thunder sounded outside.
He turned off the light again and closed his eyes. Then Beck began singing softly: "I walk down the lane, with a happy refrain, just singing, I'm singing, in the-"
"Oh my God Beck, do you want to kill me?" came Jade's horrified reply. "You're worse than the freaking rain."
Beck chuckled softly. "I'm singing, in the rain…"
"Shut the hell up."
