Disclaimer: I do not own Hunger Games, or Katniss or Gale or Peeta (gladly, no offense) or the Victor's Street or anything else that is already owned by somebody. Well, some people might, but I'm not a bank robber or anything...
So this is my second of four stories I wrote last night! I know, it's a lot! I would explain and all, but I've noticed I sort of do my A/Ns in chronological order, and I guess nobody probably gets what I'm saying as they read my AG fanfic when I explained it in a Star Trek fanfic... But anyway!
Has anybody noticed that everything is rated T? And rarely is it necessary! I was reading stories written in like 1999 last night, and they were all rated rightfully at like K or K+! Pretty much ever single one of my stories is K+. I hope that doesn't make people not want to read it, it's really no more clean then any other story...
Katniss Everdeen flopped down on the grass lining the Victor's Street and buried her face in her hands. Her life was in chaos. Peeta thought she actually liked him. Why would she? It had all been an act, couldn't he understand that?
"Hey, Catnip," Gale called, flopping down next to her. "What's wrong?"
Katniss shook her head. "I'm fine, Gale. Nothing's wrong. I won the Hunger Games."
Gale frowned and put his arm around her. "What does that have to do with anything? We all know winning doesn't make things that much better. In fact, I'm guessing you wish you'd never won. Am I right?"
Katniss shrugged halfheartedly and didn't say anything. Of course he was. Nobody knew her like Gale.
"Of course I am," he said. "Look, Catnip, all the victors want to forget the Games. I'm so sorry they happened to you."
Katniss looked up through her long hair. "I know, Gale, but everybody being sorry doesn't change things. And everybody thinks I-" Katniss looked away, almost crying. "Everybody thinks I love Peeta."
There was a silence, then Gale hugged Katniss reassuringly. "Not everybody, and the people that count know it's an act. Peeta knows it's for the Games. It'll be okay."
Katniss shook her head, and years fell down her cheeks. "But Peeta doesn't think it's an act. And he's never going to let on. He just doesn't understand the way things are."
Gale nodded. "I know, but I do understand, and I understand that things are going to get better."
Katniss sighed. "You can't understand that. It isn't true. President Snow wants me to die. And I have to go to the other districts and let people pretend to be happy I killed their children. It's horrible. I do wish I hadn't won."
Gale shook his head. "Oh, no. You don't. It isn't horrible. Things will be better. Catnip, things are different now then in the Games. You have us. You have your mom, you have Prim, and you have me. We're always going to be here, and we love you."
Gale wrapped his arms around Katniss, and for that minute, the world was calm.
Did you like it? I hope so! Yes, that again... Well, that again for anybody who has read my stories before. You may be new or something. I don't know.
I really do fanfic a lot I've noticed! People that have been on here for years have only posted like 3 stories and such! When I'm done with today's stories, I'll have written 47 I think! And that's in just three and a half weeks! I haven't even been on here for a month! I guess people do chapter stories and they have lives. Those are two big things...
Linley :)
