How did my story begin?

What did I become through the ages?

I don't know it all.

I continue to rediscover my past, my history.

It is an exciting thing to do.

I love every minute of it...

-Satiro Abare

I once had a vision. It was long ago...maybe millions of years, I don't

know. It was so confusing, but I can relieve the experience, moment by

moment. I can tell you everything. I was once a Gerudo sorceress, and

Ganondorf's only rival...this was ten years before Link's journey, yes,

not even very long after his birth.

"You know, we're not going anywhere fast. Why don't we just stop arguing

about what brings what and just go on to the arena? After all, we don't

know if an Emerald of Courage is there or not, do we?"

"Yeah. I guess you're right. Hey! Lookit that poster! It's a big green

gem!"

"Ah...I'm at a loss for words. If I'm right, then my entering this tournament

isn't for nothing! I'm so excited. Nabooru, root me on."

"Yeah! Only one who can beat you here is Ganondorf!"

"Please. Ganondorf can't hold a candle to me without magic." The two

Gerudos walk up to the registration desk in the front of the arena.

"I am Satiro Abare. I'm entering this tournament to win."

"Okay. I guess you got no plans to steal a jewel, then." Satiro folds

her arms.

"Steal it? That's not very brave. I'm going to win."

"Okay. You're set. First round, last match."

"I can wait." Satiro walks away to the waiting room. The Hylian looks

away from the desk to Satiro, and Nabooru sneakily snatches his wallet.

'Now how does a Gerudo like her know that it is an Emerald of Courage?'

-------------------------------

"Satiro Abare vs. Ishugatta Reno!" The two fighters walk into the arena.

Satiro unsheaths two scimitars and gets into a weird stance, totally open

and looking like she can't hold up the swords very well. The other holds

a long iron stick in a hand covered by an open-finger glove. The outfit

that Ishugatta wore was like that of nobility, it was plain, but even fancy

in its plainness. "NOW!"

Ishugatta rushed forward and made a savage swing at Satiro, only to find it

blocked and having to jump back to avoid getting stabbed. Satiro then began

to swing the scimitars in a succession that made her like an unpredictable

bladed tornado, she was almost impossible to keep from getting struck

somewhere sooner or later. Ishugatta backed away when Satiro stopped,

probably the first mistake that Ishugatta made...nope second. The first was

trying to attack first.

Satiro lunged and leapt high into the air, then rotated the scimitars to

reflect the sunlight to blind Ishugatta before she dropped the scimitars and

hit Ishugatta with two karate chops hard on the shoulders. Ishugatta dropped

her iron stick and fainted. Satiro turned around and pointed toward the sky.

"I am the victor, by non-lethal knockout!" The audience was stunned for a

moment and then cheered. For once, a Gerudo who valued life. The King

of Hyrule looked down from his post.

'This woman...she has favor of the goddesses to win without killing someone.'
