AN: Just a little flashback of when A and B were at Wammy's House.
Enjoy.
"Check mate."
"…"
That was the third time.
"Wow A… you're just not doing good today."
"..."
"Oh, lighten up! We can play again if you want." B smirked.
A frowned. "…I'll pass."
B pouted. "Fine, be that way."
"We can play a different-"
"Let's go outside." B interrupted, pulling A outside.
Once outside, B led A over to a tall oak tree far away from the house.
A sighed and sat down. B followed in suit.
"B…"
"A."
A turned his head to look at B. B waited for a few seconds for the older boy to say something. When he said nothing, B broke the silence. "We're going out tonight."
"Huh?" A asked, surprised.
"We're going out. Tonight. At 11."
"Why?"
"Why not?"
A frowned. "Where are we going?"
"To town or something." B smirked and looked up at the sky.
A sighed. "B… won't we get in trouble?"
"Not if we're quiet."
A, sighing once again, leaned back against the tree and stared up at the sky,
XXX
"Quiet!"
"I am!"
"Hurry up!"
"I am!"
"Shhh!"
A groaned quietly and quickly followed B down the stairs and out the door. He shivered slightly as he stepped out into the cool night air. He was glad he brought his sweatshirt.
B started walking to the front gate and A had to run to catch up. As they walked down the sidewalk A smiled. Walking outside at night was actually quite peaceful. But, unfortunately, that peaceful silence was broken yet again.
"Hey A."
"Yeah B?"
"…"
"B?" A asked, curious as to why B suddenly grew quiet.
B was staring at the space above A's head with a slight frown on his face.
"What's the matter?"
B shook his head. "Let's go to the park."
A nodded, still a little confused. He supposed he should be used to it by now, considering B was usually looking above his head lately. Still, he was always curious as to why. Lately he's caught B staring above his head for what seemed like hours. Was there something there that only he could see? He dismissed all thoughts concerning the matter. Now was not the time for that. B would probably get angry if he noticed A wasn't paying attention to him. He lifted his head and noticed they were entering the park. B led him to the swings and they sat down.
"…So B… why'd you want to go out tonight?"
B looked up at the sky. "Just wanted to get away from Wammy's." He said, swinging back and forth slightly.
"Oh… but why tonight?"
He shrugged. Because you only have so many weeks before you die.
A stared at him for a few moments before looking up at the sky. It was a beautiful night. There was a full moon and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.
They stayed like that, appreciating the silence the night had to offer.
When they finally left it was 1 am. They quietly snuck back into the house and went into A's room. A didn't object as they crawled into bed together.
He was soon fast asleep, leaving B to ponder about the night's events. He turned to look at A's sleeping face. Almost Always… 5 weeks is too soon.
B frowned. He had to make the next 5 weeks last.
And after A died he would leave and get his revenge.
For A was his only friend and he wouldn't let his death go so easily. He would get back at L and make him pay.
