Inuyasha's Thought's On Reincarnation

"Come on, Inuyasha. I want to show you my room.", Kagome said joyfully, with a little giggle. She had talked him into coming to her timeline for a while, as a little "vacation", as she called it.

He smirked. "I'll be there in a minute, Kagome. Get off my back." He said it mostly as a joke.

"Alright. You don't have to be a jerk about it." She went in the house. He saw her through the window playing with her younger brother, and laughing, so happy, so free. It made him think of his Kikyo. In reality she was Kikyo, yet still, lately he just wasn't certain.

She had, at one point, been reincarnated with Kikyo's soul. She inherited the sacred jewl, and Kikyo's natral ability as an archer. Inuyasha had noticed thier similarities right away, and practically fallen for the girl the first time he'd seen her. To look into her eyes was to see into the eyes of his Kikyo. It was kind of funny. Kikyo bound him to a tree, and the first thing she did when she saw him was set him free. Although, it wasn't her. It was Kagome.

There had always been the differences between them, but lately, he had begun to notice them more. Kagome had a free spirit, and a happiness that Kikyo could never posses. She was giddy, and niave, while Kikyo was serious and wize. He hadn't been completely sure about these differences until the day Kikyo was brought back to life, or whatever you'd call the state she was in as a clay puppet, living off pure hatred for him.

Then she took part of Kagome's soul, and was able to think on her own. That, Inuyasha believed, was the point where they broke away from eachother, and gained thier own personas. They lived in the same plain of existance, and had completely different personalities. Kagome was not Kikyo anymore. Kagome was a schoolgirl from the future, and Kikyo was a soul devouring monster wanting nothing but to seek revenge on him. He let a single tear roll down his cheek as he unintentionally reminded himself that he would one day have to kill her.

He tried to remember the way his life had been going before Naraku's attack. He had been with a wonderful girl, ready and willing to free her soul, and shead himself of sin. Prepared to settle down with her, and be happy. He clenched his fists. It was gone. It had been perfect, better than any heaven, and it was all gone. All because of him. All because of Naraku!

"Inuyasha, are you coming?", Kagome yelled.

"Yeah. Give me a minute. I'll be right there." He wiped the extra wetness from his eyes, and got up. Sure this girl wasn't his Kikyo anymore, but he would always have a certain soft spot for her. Kikyo on the other hand, he would love for all eternity, right up to, and after the time that he finished her off. He had decided that tomarrow was the right time to finally end the wandering of her lost soul. He knew that he would never let go, but at least he would have his friend Kagome there to help him along. One thing bothered him; would she be a compfort, or a constant remimder of his beautiful love, who would soon seise to exist for all eternity? "I miss you Kikyo. It could have been perfect.", he whispered into the sky.

"Inuyasha?!"

He wiped away a final tear. "I'm coming Kagome." He walked to the house.
