Chapter 1
Regina's Perspective:
Everything was normal. Henry was staying at my house for the week.
"Hey Mom, can I have a friend over after school today?"
"Sure"
I was trying to act like the better mom, so that maybe Henry would want to stay with me more often. He left in a hurry. As the door closed, I sighed wishing I could redo the morning. Thoughts run through my mind. Why didn't I do that differently? Why does he like Emma more than me? Why won't he stay with me longer than a week? All I want is for my son to love me, the way I love him, but he never will. Yes, he knows that I've changed, but memories of me being evil and reading about what I did when I was evil still remains in his mind. Henry, Emma, Snow and Charming will never fully forgive me for everything I did when I was the Evil Queen.
The day passed surprisingly quick. Henry walked through the big white door around 3:18 with his friend. I looked at his friend and saw something familiar. He had light brown hair and blue eyes that were comforting to all who looked upon them. When he was fully inside the house I couldn't say anything or do anything. A hot, steamy tear ran down my cheek and I quickly wiped it away.
"Daniel?"
"No, my name is Derek."
"Mom, this is my friend Derek."
In a hurry, I ran up the stairs. This 15 year old boy was Daniel! Yes he claimed his name was Derek, but I didn't believe him. I knew in my heart that I just looked into the eyes of my true love. He was trapped in a 15 year olds body. Thoughts lindured in my mind, but the only one that stood out is "How?"
