It snowed all night, so by the time they woke up in the morning everything was a snowy wonderland. Lelouch was woken up when Suzaku, always an early riser, nudged his shoulder with excitement for the umpteenth time.

Now, winter was never Lelouchs favourite season. He simply wasn't made to withstand the weather, although summer with its blazing heat wasn't too good for him either. Suzaku always did say he would break in a strong breeze. Or catch pneumonia. Nonetheless the day wasn't overtly cold, the wind had ceased and the sun was giving it its winters best, so even he couldn't complain. It was turning out to be a perfect lazy Saturday morning.

Suzaku and he made pancakes, playing around with the utensils in a child-like, bubbly manner only Suzaku seemed to bring out of him. Nunally and Rolo joined them soon afterwards, his little brother helping his twin rotate the wheelchair to the table.

Afterwards they bundled up, Lelouch taking special care to ensure everyone was safely wrapped up and gloved. Ironically, it was him who had forgotten his scarf, only to have it wrapped around his neck by a smiling Suzaku who knew how to take care of him just as much as he did. They kissed, it felt only appropriate in the snow covered park with light snowflakes dusting the air around them. Rolo grumbled before them.

Lelouch bought them all hot chocolate and they circled the frozen lake, Suzaku lifting Nunally from her wheelchair and lowered her on the curb to alet her graze her fingers on the solid surface. Much to his chagrin Suzaku and Rolo managed to get in a snow fight which led to the entirety of their make shift family throwing snow around. After, all but Nunally who was only hit with the required few soft hits to her legs and arms, were soaked throughout and they returned home fairly quickly to avoid sickness. Lelouch still found himself sneezing in the evening.

It snowed again that night and Suzaku brought him soup to bed. Lelouch was only happier with each day to have left the Britannias household.
