Crashing through the trees, Garfield Logan stormed in the form of a gorilla. He let out a roar. He beat his chest. He threw logs and boulders and ripped out bushes so that their roots snaked naked through the air. Garfield was dangerous. His emotions completely unchecked. He morphed back to a man, completely naked and furious. He screamed to the sky.
"WHERE IS SHE!?"
A flock of birds took off in alarm. Their cries echoed through the forest. Garfield waited and listened. Until finally, he lunged forward in front of him at the sound of a vehicle moving along the forest floor.
"I've got you now, you sonofabitch!"
He shifted into a tiger and ran. His claws gripped the mud and dirt as he pulled himself faster along through the trees. He let out a deafening roar. He ran with hatred in his heart and with fear of losing her in his soul. His tiger form wasn't fast enough. The sound of the wheels were getting farther and farther away.
"No!" He thought to himself. "I won't lose her!"
Mid-stride he morphed into a cheetah. He felt the blood pumping through his body and felt a new found speed. The vehicle was getting louder.
Garfield burst through the trees into a clearing where the vehicle was slowing down to a halt. Digging his paws into the ground he tripped and fell forward into a crumpled heap. He quickly recovered and stood to face Rachel's captor.
"So, this is the famous Garfield Logan. 'Beast Boy' I believe they call you?"
Garfield stood his ground and looked to the parked black Jeep. He could see Rachel slumped in the backseat with a white bag over her head.
"You let her go...NOW!" He turned back into his gorilla form and roared an emphasis.
"Now, now, there's no need to rush things." Said the man. "I thought we should get to know each other."
Garfield beat his chest and bounded forward towards him. The man produced a long electrified staff from the Jeep and rammed it into Garfield's chest.
Garfield roared in pain and dropped to the ground. In his human form, and still recovering from the shock, he reached out and swiped at the man, but missed.
"I believe you can do better than that. Get up, boy!"
Garfield hoisted himself up on all fours, panting.
"I won't...let you take her…"
"Then fight, Logan!"
Garfield shifted into a tiger once more. The man made to jab at him again with the rod, but Garfield grabbed it in his jaws and broke it with a snap.
"Well, it seems I'm now, outmatched." Mumbled the captor.
In human form, Garfield grabbed the man by the neck and began to choke him.
"If you think I won't kill you, you're wrong."
Gasping for air the man gave a sort of laugh.
"Then...do...it."
Garfield snapped his neck. The man's body fell. He was done.
Rachel started to stir. Garfield ran over and snatched the bag off her head.
"Gar, what...what happened?"
"It's okay, Rae, it's over."
