Author's Note: I was just working on my latest work for the last few weeks and I decided to do this poem to lead into it. I thought it would work much better that way.


2nd Note: Nothing of significance to say here. It does occur the night after 'A Place Like Home…' but that's not vital to the story. Anyone should be able to understand it. It's just Link looking down on a sleeping Malon and thinking about what he went through seven years ago…


3rd Note: And don't flame me if the poem's not that good. I am not a poet. Even I know it.

I look down upon you, and what do I see?

The girl for whom I care,

The only girl with whom I want to be.

But sweet Malon, there is still one secret I must bare


For you don't know of the sights I have seen and the things I faced,

In Termina, where I went to salvage their land and save their lives.

But hiding it from you seemed like such a waste,

Keeping it all bottled up stung worse than a thousand knives.


So as I see you sleeping here

I wonder why I've kept this for so long

Is it because of the wounds from the past that sear?

Is it because the pain is that strong?


I think back to that time long ago

And I think of moments I almost died

Moments I don't want you to know

And the many moments I've tried to hide


I think back to the other Hyrule we were in a few days before

When for the first time, I revealed that I endured such a quest

The look of hurt in your eyes made my heart ache more

And it left me unable to rest


The revelation made you feel betrayed

You thought I held no secrets from you

But with me this secret stayed

Of my life then, you had no clue


But I've made a choice; You shall learn all

The final secret I shall reveal

No more time to wait; No more time to stall

It's time to show how I feel


Sleep well, sweet Malon; your love has a story to tell

Of his life in Termina; which he remembers all too well
