Chapter One

Dougie Poynter awoke to the sound of his alarm clock shrilling in his ear. Blindly fumbling, he finally managed to find the off button and then slowly crack open his eyes. 7:00 am. He groaned and flipped over, burying his head into the mountain of blankets and pillows that made up his bed. 7 o'clock was extremely early to get up, especially if you hadn't been getting up before 12 o'clock for 3 months. He was in a light doze when he heard pounding on his door, followed by his sister's annoyingly high-pitched voice.

"Dougie Poynter, you get up right now. If you're not ready for school in 30 minutes then I'm leaving you here." She huffed and then stomped down the stairs... always the drama queen.

Dougie's sister, Katy, was older than him by two years, him being 15 and her being 17, and she definitely took pride in making that known. She boasted about how she had a larger bedroom than Dougie, that she had designer clothes filling her large walk-in close, and about how smart she was since she got her driver's license on the first go, and a nice new car as congratulations.. but despite all this, Dougie never let on that it bothered him, because really, it didn't.

He jumped out of bed with another groan and ran to the bathroom since he was only in boxers and it was freezing. He took the shortest shower possible, and made his way back to his room to dress and style his blonde hair so that the blonde fringe hung perfectly over his forehead and left eye. He smiled at himself in the mirror, then went to pick out some clothes. His old skater clothes still hung in his closet, but he had moved them to the back to make room for his new wardrobe, which now consisted of tighter fitting jeans and new skate shirts that didn't have holes in them like his others, as well as button downs. He also had a couple of new pairs of shoes; some vans and some nicer looking skate shoes.

He slipped on a pair of boxers, followed by one of the tighter fitting pairs of jeans. He looked at his reflection in the mirror and smiled when he saw that the jeans highlighted his slim legs and small, yet perky, bum. He grabbed a light blue plaid button down and pulled it up his arms, buttoning it up yet leaving the first couple of buttons undone. He rolled up the sleeves and slipped his countless bracelets onto his wrist. He slipped his feet into his vans and then stepped back to check his overall appearance in the mirror. A huge grin broke across his face when he realized that he looked better than he ever had. He sprayed some of his new, expensive cologne on.. After all, he was out to impress.

He bounded down the stairs with a smile on his face. It was a new year.. Well, a new school year anyway, and he felt unstoppable. That was, until his sister decided to have a go at him again.

"About time, Dougie. Do you always have to take forever? Harry's probably been waiting for me for a while."

The smile dropped off Dougie's face, and he skidded to a halt in the middle of the kitchen. True, Dougie wasn't jealous of his sister's massive room or her expensive clothes, her car or her driver's license, but there was one thing of her's he was jealous of. One thing way more important than clothes or a car. One thing that his sister would never know he wanted more than anything, and that one thing was Harry Judd.
