Chocolate chip cookies
May was in the kitchen baking chocolate chip cookies for Drew. They had been dating for a while now, and he had mentioned that he liked chocolate chip cookies. But, the thing was, she never cooked.
Her mom and dad were out for the day—at some spa—and Max was on his own adventure.
She was home alone in the kitchen. She had already made a batch when she heard a knock at the door followed by her name.
"May?" Drew called.
"The door's open!" she yelled.
He came in through the kitchen and wrapped his arms around her waist, giving her a hug from behind. He grabbed a cookie and leaned against the counter taking a bite. Drew made a sound and she turned to him, "What? Too hot?"
"Mmm, it's a little salty" he said.
"Salty? I- I put a dash of salt in there, that's what it said to do in the recipe" she said as she put down the spatula.
He looked at her. "How much is a dash? Show me," he said handing her the can of salt.
She took the salt and grabbed his hand pouring the salt in to his hand. When she stopped there was a handful of salt in his hand "Ohh, tha- that's more like a handful…" He took a pinch of it and tossed it over his shoulder. He dumped it in the sink
"Okay, great. Well, maybe this batch will be better," she said as she picked up another bowl and put her finger in the mix. "Try it," she whispered.
He opened his mouth and she stuck her finger in his mouth. He gently sucked on it, a shocked expression slowly spread across her face, followed by a laugh.
He wiped his mouth, "Nope." He shook his head and looked at her. "Still salty."
She continued to laugh.
"You know, maybe I need a second opinion…" He turned to pick up the bowl and a look of horror came across her face.
"No!" She half laughed, half screamed out—turning to run.
He turned around with the bowl in his hands. "Ohh, you better run!" He said, taking off after her.
Cookie dough got everywhere and the kitchen table was knocked over. May was using the table as her cover while Drew hid behind the wall.
"Ohh man, I've got cookie dough all over me!" She groaned as she slowly rose from behind the knocked over table with a bowl in one arm and a ball of cookie dough in the other. "It's even in my bra—maybe I should take it off."
"What?" Drew said quietly as he turned his head to see her. (Naughty Drew!)
"SUCKER!" She yelled as she threw the ball of dough she had been holding at him.
He used a pan to block the dough form getting him. "Whoa! Hey, hey!" he said, lifting his arms in defeat.
"You surrender?" she asked, grabbing another handful of cookie dough.
He continued to hold his arms up. "I give up," he said walking closer to her. "I'm putting the batter down," he said, placing the bowl on the ground.
"Hmmm," she replied smugly.
He slowly stood up, then walked to her. Taking her in his arms he quietly intoned, "If you're going to be taking anything off, please, please, please let me help you." Then, he kissed her.
She kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his neck and running her fingers through his hair.
"You know, I take that back," he said once they broke apart.
"Ohh?" she queried.
"This is the best cookie I've ever had," he replied simply. Then, he kissed her again.
She then broke the kiss. "Me too," she added quietly, bringing him bac
