"Isshiki's cooking is so good!"

"Wow, wow! Your son is so talented!"

"There is nothing that boy can't do if he sets his mind to it!"

The atmosphere is nice inside the temple. He was invited to cook there by a friend of the family.

This Kyoto tour was pretty interesting. He was learning to cook so many things.

There were all sorts of local dishes, variations of food he'd already known, but they were different. The little changes made them into all new dishes.

Still, though, this good mood was being ruined. It wasn't the food or the location. It was the chatter: that broke apart this nice night.

Isshiki stared out towards the zen garden.

How nice.

"Isshiki! Come and show out guests your Buddhist Shojin Ryori! They're eager to taste it!

He learned to make it that morning. It was fun. It was always fun: dish after dish, dish after dish, dish after dish. It was always fun and his food was always good.

Isshiki stood near the edge of the temple and stared out in the garden. It was night time and the garden was lit up with soft light from paper lanterns.

"Isshiki!"

Isshiki stayed for just a moment longer.

Then he turned and smiled towards his crowd.

Time to cook-again!

"This is amazing!"

"This is wonderful. Issihiki's cooking is really next level!"

"Isshiki is a genius, a prodigy!"

Notes:

Hey! Thanks for reading. I hope you liked it!

I was thinking of adding on to this and doing one chapter for all the main characters. I'm busy right now, but we'll see what happens.

I hope you have a spectacular day!
