Letting Go

Neither one of you is ready to break the kiss just yet. The kiss that started soft and tender has grown more passionate, more desperate. You feel him wrap his arm around your waist and pull you flush against him. The blood from his wound seeps into your shirt and you feel sick. Another choke constricts your throat and a new stream of tears flows down your cheeks, mixing with his and you taste the saltiness against your lips. Your fingers run through his hair and you can feel the mixture of rain, sweat and blood against your fingers. You want to hold on forever and you know that it is time to let go.
