I'll Be Missing You
Booth stood head down after knocking on Brennan's door. He was wearing his green army uniform, and the hat that matched it. He smiled as she opened the door, and he saw those amazing blue eyes.
"Hey Bones," he smiled.
"Hey" she replied with a sad smile, that matched the sad tone in her voice. She was going to miss him more than she thought she would.
"Can I come in?" Booth asked.
"Of course you can Booth," she replied, moving to one side so he could come in. Once he was in she closed the door and followed him. " I thought you already left," she mumbled.
"Not yet," he replied louder. He cleared his throat. "I had to say goodbye to you first."
"You already said goodbye Booth," she reminded him, she turned to look at him, his brown eyes always mesmerized her.
"Well," he said. "I didn't get to tell you everything I wanted to tell you..." he told her.
"What do you need to tell me?" she asked. You didn't need to be a scientist to read her face, Booth saw worry, sadness and this thing in her eyes. He always saw that thing-that light, in her eyes.
"Sit down," he said taking a seat on the couch and patting the area next to him. She took a seat next to him and looked at him. "I just wanted to tell you I'm going to miss this..." Booth mumbled. And he was definitely gonna miss this. He was going to miss going to eat with her and watching movies with her. He was going to miss her light blue eyes and her silky brown hair. He was going to miss the bickering. But most of all he was going to miss HER. He was going to miss talking to his bones.
"You mean-?" she started.
"Let me finish," he said, "I'm going to miss you, I'm going to miss us. I'm going to miss the bickering, I'm going to miss the dinners, I'm going to miss coming here if I really need to see you. And honestly, this three hundered sixty five days is going to be the longest year of my life." He looked over into her blue eyes. "Yeah, That's it," he coughed out.
She pulled his face into hers and put her lips on his. She knew this was going to be the only time they'd kiss for the next 365 days, so she had to take that chance. The kiss started out gentle, neither of them knew whether the other wanted it rougher. It felt like they were trying to savior every second. Booth deepend the kiss and pulled her into his arms. She'd moved her hands into his hair. Booth was about to pull away, but she pulled him back in for a second, trying to get some kind of feeling she could remember him by. But even if they didn't kiss, she would always remember her Booth. She didn't want to let go, but she did.
He half smiled at her, and kissed her forhead. "I'll be there to see you when you leave. I'll sneak off the base to see you-"
"Don't do that Booth!" Brennan protested. Booth was up on his feet and over at the door.
"I'll see you then," he told her, as he opened the door. He turned his head and gave her his charm smile. "I love you," he said walking out the door and closing it behind him.
"I love you too," she mumbled. For a second she was in shock with everything that just happened. For the next second, she regretted not telling him she loved him too earlier than this, she didn't think that atta boy thing counted, and for not just saying yes to him, back after they told Sweets how they first met. She also couldn't help but regret even going, but she had to find some objective in her life. She also had to make Booth feel okay going where he wants to go. And It's just one year. One year, that she'd spend missing her Booth.
Booth stopped in his tracks as he heard the mumbled 'I love you too' from Brennan's room. For a minute, he wanted to just stay here. But he had to go, in a year he could try again to get his girl.
