ANNOYING

"You're here early, Sasuke-kun!" chirped Haruno Sakura cheerfully. She clapped her hands together, her short bangs whisking past her eyes. Uchiha Sasuke was always early. And he had no plan to state the obvious to his annoying acquaintance.
The sun was just barely easing over the horizon, and the dew had already began to sparkle on the grass. Sasuke took a breath of the fresh morning air, not moving from his posture leaning against the bridge. His arms hung loose against the side, just like always.
"How are you today, Sasuke-kun?"
"Fine."
"Oh," Sakura gave him a soft smile. It had been so long since they had officially become team seven. With Ino around to remind her of her purpose of rivalry, she began to notice Ino wasn't the only one with sour feelings towards her. But, part of her didn't want to believe the Uchiha disliked her as much as he appeared to.
Sakura's feet made soft patters against the wood as she walked to stand against the rails next to Sasuke. He in turn watched her warily. Sakura's chest pressed into the wood, and she leaned far over to look into the water, the tips of her hair tickling her nose.
"You're going to fall," he scoffed.
"No I'm not," she huffed. Why should he care anyway? The tension was rolling off him in waves, and Sakura blinked away the burning sensation in her eyes.
"Why do you hate me?" she asked dejectedly.
"Why do you like me?" Sasuke countered. Sakura's eyes widened. She had never thought about it.
Sasuke had always been the cool, nice looking boy in the academy. It was only natural to like him, and hate anyone else who did. But, why?
Sakura looked at him, and blushed to find he was giving her an intense stare. Apparently he wanted an answer.
"I asked you first," she retorted crossing her arms against the edge of the bridge.
"Your annoying."
"I was expecting you to say that!" she shouted. "I was expecting your reason for hating me was because I was 'annoying!'"
"Than why did you ask?" Sakura's breath caught.
"Where is Naruto?" she asked looking down into the water. She watched the koi swim in circles, peaceful as ever and oblivious to what their world would be like if they were human shinobi.
"You haven't answered my question."
"So?!"
"I want an answer," he demanded placidly.
"Fine!" Sakura shouted. "You want an answer? Fine!"
"Hn."
"Because I wanted to be known," she began tearfully. "If all those others girls liked you, then maybe they would like me too! But all you did was wreck my friendship with my only friend I ever had! And I used to look up to you and the way you would protect me and Naruto, and I wished I could be like that!
"Protecting to ones I love. Did you think I cut my hair just for the look of it? It was to try and save you both, because I was tired of being looked over, and having to watch you and Naruto's backs. And maybe, I did like you. Maybe I like you a lot. And it's not something I can explain.
"Love, isn't something easily explained…."
Sasuke's eyes were wide, and he looked at Sakura shocked.
"Saku--"
"I'm going to show you and Naruto one day," she whispered. "I'm going to be the strongest kunoichi Konoha's ever seen."
"You're annoying." Sasuke mumbled turning to watch the koi with her.
This time Sakura only smiled.
"Whatever you say, Sasuke-kun!" she laughed, irking the Uchiha. She was not supposed to laugh. A small smirk tugged the corner of his lips. Maybe he would miss her just a little, but not too much.
"Sasuke-kun? Are you blushing?"
On second thought. He didn't think he would…
