Ok so this is the re-write of a family's love can't heal pall because the first version sucked and went way to fast. I like this a lot better and hope you do also. Enjoy.
Flash back
"Where were you. Why couldn't I find you?" He asked softly walking towards the figure opposite of him.
"It's because I didint want to be want to be found," he heard the figure whisper back with hatred in his voice "It's because I don't need you anymore, your nothing to me. Useless,"
"No I will try harder to be of more use I need you. Don't leave me!" Naruto yelled crying. Sasuke gave Naruto a glare and turned around and disappeared from sight. Naruto ran after Sasuke. Trying to catch him. Trying to get his brother back, but he couldn't Sasuke was to far gone.
"Please don't go." Naruto fell to his knees and broke down crying.
This would be last time that Naruto ever his emotions. He didn't want to get hurt again, not like he did that day.
End flashback
"Naruto, you need to eat now," Sakura said to him while opening the blinds to his hospital room allowing the light to stream into the room. The room was mostly white with bare necessities. There was a bed with confutable enough looking pillows and a blue fleece blanket. To the right of the bed was a night table with some pictures on it. The first picture was one with a tall black haired boy and a small blonde haired boy holding hands. The second picture was of one with the same blonde haired boy but instead of a black haired boy he was with a red headed male with the kanji love on his forehead and thick black lines around his eyes. The third male in that picture was a boy with dirty blonde hair with a thick strand going through the center of his face. Those two males where is brothers in all but blood, Gaara and Menma.
Sakura turned around to set up the tray of food to Naruto's hospital bed so he could eat it without having any problems but Naruto was just laying on the bed staring at the wall like he did almost every time he was awake. Sakura thought of how long he had been this way, not responding and barley surviving. It had been a year since Sasuke left. A year since Naruto stopped showing emotion and 10 months since Naruto entered the psych ward to Konoha's hospital.
"I brought you your favourite Naruto, miso ramen so eat up," Sakura cooed softly trying to convince Naruto to eat because he hadn't been eating much lately. When Naruto just ignored the food and continued to look in that trance like state she had seen plenty of times on him she left to go see lady Tsunade hoping that she could do something about it this time.
You see ever since the day that Sasuke had left Naruto had stopped caring. He stopped training, stopped eating, sleeping. It was like he gave up on everything. Everyone from rookie nine, plus his other friends tried to coax him back to his old self. But it didn't work. The only people who were still able to get any response out of him now were Gaara and Menma and even then it wasn't as much as they would have liked.
When Sakura heard her name called she turned around to see Kakashi walking towards her.
"How is he today?" Kakashi asked Sakura.
"It seems like he has stopped eating completely Kakashi-sensei. Before he would at least eat enough to keep him alive but now he's not even eating that. I'm scared sensei, I don't know what to do anymore. He's going down so fast and I just can't take it anymore. I can't stand seeing him like that," Sakura had started crying at this point.
"It will be okay Sakura," Kakashi had walked up to Sakura and gave her as much comfort as he could. "Naruto is strong and he will make it thought this."
"I have to go see lady Tsunade Kakashi-sensei"
"Ok Sakura. I will walk you there,"
"Thank you," Sakura replied happy that she didn't have to be alone.
The walk there was quiet. Not a awkward silence but a quiet they both needed, they didn't need to talk to each other they just needed company thought this hard time and they would use it at any chance they got.
"I will let you speak to her alone," the copy cat ninja said once they reached the doors of the hokage tower.
When Sakura got to lady Tsunade's office she knocked on the door politely only entering after she heard a come in.
"Lady Tsunade, Naruto is getting worse. No matter what we do nothing is changing. He doesn't eat, he doesn't sleep, he doesn't talk. All he does is still there and I don't know what to do anymore," Sakura stated softly. She hated how she couldn't help Naruto. But she knew two people who could try.
"Maybe if we get Gaara and Menma to talk and be with him it would help him?" Sakura asked while looking at her hokage and mentor. The hokage sat there debating on if that would really change anything. Even though they had been visiting Naruto's condition had still been going down hill.
"We can try," the female sanin stated coming to her conclusion. It was worth a try if it might help her gaki. She then presses a button located on her desk and shizune entered the room after a minute.
"I need you to get me Menma and Gaara and ask them to come down to my office,"
"Of course lady Tsunade," Shizune stated in a official tone and left the office right away to do what her hokage asked her to do.
"I hope that Gaara and Menma will help him, I can't stand to see him like this anymore," Sakura said with tears welling up in her eyes.
"I know, I don't think anyone can any longer." Was her reply before she was in motherly hug.
Gaara was sitting in his hotel room when he was informed by a ANBU member that the hokage asked if he could meet her in her office.
"I will be there shortly," was Gaaras clipped reply
"I will relay the message kazekage," the ANBU said before bowing and leaving in a swirl of leaves.
Ever since Gaara had heard that Naruto's health was plummeting a week ago he had come right to konoha and checked in a hotel so that he could be here for his brother. his siblings could lead the village hidden in the sand for a while because his brother needed him no matter how hard it was to see him. It broke his heart to see Naruto lying there staring at him with dull lifeless eyes. Oh the next time he saw sasuke he wouldn't kill him, that would be mercy compared to what he would do. And Gaara didn't give mercy. That bastard had it coming.
Menma was playing his instrument, a get well song for Naruto hoping it would recover. The dirty blond was sitting on the bridge when a ANBU member wearing a bear mask appeared in front of him.
"Is this about Naruto?" Menma asked the bear ANBU
"I was only told to tell you that the lady hokage is requesting your presence," bear-San replied
"Ok, I will go there right away,"
The bear masked ANBU nodded before leaving to tell the hokage the information.
He had thought of Naruto as his brother ever since he had saved him from the bad path we had been on and loved him even though he had done horrible things. The one thing he wanted the most right now was his brother. He missed his idiotic but loving personality. His smile that would make anyone cheer up instantly. He wouldn't let Naruto die. He would do anything to get his brother back.
When Gaara and Menma entered Tsunade's office they noticed the grim mood the hokage was in. After greeting the hokage they stepped into the office and took the two seats in font of her desk. Tsunade went straight to the point.
"Naruto's condition is becoming worse. He hasn't eaten or slept in a while and I don't know what to do. Can I ask you two to go over there and try to get him to eat?" Tsunade asked.
They both nodded, wanting to get out of the office and to Naruto side as soon as possible. Tsunade saw this and let them go knowing they would go straight to Naruto.
"I hope they can do something for Naruto," she muttered. Naruto was one of the few people she respected and could say she cared about. She could lose another special person, not without it breaking her.
The first thing that they noticed when they entered Naruto's room was that Naruto looked more sickly then when they had previously visited. He was skinnier, practically skin and bones now, and the circles around his eyes where a lot darker.
Gaara sat to the right of Naruto's bed and Menma to the right. No one said anything for what seemed like hours, soaking up the appearance of their brother and praying he got better. They hoped that maybe Naruto would recognize them and would look alive again. Hoping that he would know that there are so many people out there that love him. Hoping that he knew that he still had two other brothers that cared. There silence was broken by a soft sob.
Gaara looked up to see that Menma had broken down into tears. Getting up he walked over to him and allowed Menma to hug him, knowing he needed the comfort.
"I-I just don't know what to do I can't stand to see him this way. I miss him so much. I need him, I need my brother back. He saved my life and I can't even save his. I want Naruto, please give me Naruto back. Il do anything you want, but please give me my brother back," Menma yelled, screamed and cried to no one. Gaara held him tighter, a few tears slipping out of his eyes. They both knew Naruto wouldn't make it. They had hoped but after this visit there was no denying it. Naruto would die, he had given up and nothing they could do would change that. His friends want to keep him alive was hurting more then helping and maybe it was time for them to let him go.
Standing up Gaara looked at Menma. Menma looked up with Grief, disappear and anger in his eyes but under that was understanding. It was time to let go. They both left Naruto's room to go inform the hokage it was time.
It had taken a week to convince everyone that it was time to let Naruto go. And week for everyone to come to terms with that fact and accept it. This is why a week later every was in Naruto's room. Rookie 9 plus Gai's team. Naruto's two brothers. Konohamaru and his friends. Kakashi, Iruka, Tsunade and Jiraya. They were all there to see him off. They had decided that killing him would be the fastest option. A kunai to the heart. Gaara would do it.
Gaara walked over to Naruto's bedside, kunai in hand. He held it above Naruto's heart.
"I'm so sorry I couldn't save you. You were my brother and best friend and I couldn't help you. But I realized you didn't want help, you let go. That's why I'm now letting you go. I will always remember you and hold you in my heart. But it's time to move on. You to another world and hopefully a better one, one where your happier. And me on with my life as kazekage. I promise you one thing though. I will find that bastard sasuke, and kill him for what he did do you. That I promise. I will miss you and hope to see you in the other world." After saying that Gaara thrust the kunai down and set his brother free.
