Will You Marry Me?

Keiichi looked at the diamond engagement ring in his hand and swallowed nervously.
I can do this. I don't want to be with anyone else but her. I love her. Belldandy…Keiichi thought.
He put the ring in his pocket and walked to the kitchen where Belldandy was making ramen and sweet 'n sour chicken.
He watched her sing a lovely melody to herself. She was always happy, smiling, singing, and joyful. What guy wouldn't want to be with her?
"Belldandy?", Keiichi called out.
Belldandy turned around and smiled the moment she laid eyes on Keiichi.
"Yes ?", Belldandy asked.
"Um…I was wondering if…um…you could come outside with me for a moment?", Keiichi asked, his heart beating a million miles an hour.
"Of course. Just give me a moment. Skuld?", Belldandy called out.
At the sound of her name, Skuld appeared.
"Yes Big Sis?", Skuld asked enthusiastically.
"Would you set the table and put the food there for me? Me and Keiichi are going out for a moment. We'll be right back ok?", Belldandy said.
"Sure thing Big Sis! And you better keep your hands off her mister! Or there will be serious consequences!", Skuld warned Keiichi.
"Heh…of course Skuld", Keiichi replied nervously.
Skuld glared at him as he and Belldandy went outside.
The moon was shining in the dark, night sky, illuminating everything around Keiichi and Belldandy.
"The moon is so beautiful", Belldandy whispered.
"It sure is", Keiichi replied, taking hold of Belldandy's hand.
They stood there, holding hands, looking at the moon for a while. Then, Keiichi turned and looked at Belldandy.
"Belldandy, you're the most amazing goddess a guy like me could ever have. I'm so lucky to have you and as long as you're by my side, that's all that matters", Keiichi spoke.
Belldandy smiled and kissed his cheek, making him blush a faint red.
"Um…Belldandy?", Keiichi asked.
"Yes ?", Belldandy replied, patiently waiting.
Keiichi turned his whole body toward her. He got down on one knee and presented the ring from his pocket.
"Will you marry me, Belldandy?", Keiichi boldly asked.
Belldandy didn't answer right away. She seemed…lost and confused.
"Belldandy? Are you alright?", Keiichi asked, now worried.
"I'm fine. I just realized what you asked me. I wasn't sure at first but I saw something similar like this on tv. Now I understand", Belldandy replied with relief.
"I see. So, will you marry me?", Keiichi asked a second time, hoping she would say yes.
She smiled and a twinkle appeared in her eye. Suddenly, a tear dropped and landed on the dirt, making a tiny puddle.
"Yes", she breathed,"I be honored".
Keiichi smiled and slid the ring on her left ring finger. He got up and embraced her.
They remained embraced for a long time, never letting go of what they truly wanted: each other.
