I wish it didn't have to happen that way. It began like any other day, but it ended like no other. It was late, probably around 8 O'clock at night. "Good night Sue Pea"
I whispered over my shoulder as I gently pulled over the Guest Room door. I walked down a few hallways before I reached the closed over door to the Billiard Room.
"Hey Slim." I poked my head inside the door and smiled. I stifled a laugh as Slim tripped forward, messing up his shot. "Hey Mel" he responded, smiling as he looked
up at me. "Just making the rounds before bed" I responded. Slim rested his arm on his pool stick and gave me a sly grin. "What?" I asked, wondering why he was
looking at me like that. "Since when have I been a part of your daily goodnights?" he asked. "Since I said so" I countered as I walked up to him. I stood in front of
him for a second before pushing up to my tiptoes and kissing him. He smiled as we parted, dropping his arm off his pool stick. "Go to sleep" he said quietly, a soft
smile creeping across his face. I rushed out of the room, trying to keep a smile off my own face. I lightly traipsed down the stairs to my Dad's forever closed Library
door. "I put Sue to bed Dad" I whispered through the door. "Alright, thank you Melody" my Dad responded distractedly. He was always reading at that time of night,
so I decided to let him be. I wandered down the hallway and into Chauncey's room. I smiled as I saw Chauncey bouncing in his crib. "Hey there" I chided, crouching
down in front of his crib. "Play with me!" he demanded, continuing to bounce up and down. "Not right now Sweetie. It's late, you need to sleep." I reached down and
picking Chauncey up, cradling him in my arms. "I don't wanna!" Chauncey complained tiredly. "Sleep" I whispered. I slowly began rocking him back and forth until his
eyes were lulled shut. I smiled as I listened to Chauncey's steady breathing. I gave a hard blink as I thought I saw a flash of purple out of my peripheral vision. As I
looked back to Chauncey he began to look a little blue. I immediately began to panic, shaking him lightly up and down. "Chauncey. Chauncey. Chauncey!" I yelled,
but he just wouldn't wake up. My vision went blurry as tears began to form behind my eyes. As they started streaming down my cheeks I could see Chauncey looking
completely blue, and also a bit transparent. My baby brother had died in my arms. I laid him gently down in his crib again and watched as he hovered an inch above
the blanket. As I spun around I gasped, met with the sight of a purple looking reaper. He slowly advanced towards me. I knew I was going to die, and barely had time
to let out a scream before he laid a hand on my shoulder. I could feel the life slip out of me as I collapsed to the floor. I should've warned someone of what was going
to happen to them, but I couldn't, I had died.
Twiz: This is my little story of how Melody died. I really like Melody and I wanted to write something for her. In my story (in case it's not odvious) Melody is Neville and Lydia's daughter, therefore Chauncey and Sue Pea's sibling. Also her and Slim are having a bit of a romance going on (because I'm weird and I ship ghosts :) P.S. spoilers, the purple reaper was Bogmire that killed Chauncey and Melody (he was doing work for King Boo)
