Chapter1
A long time ago in Bulgaria, among the mangled corpses of the dreaded Akuma, in the crimson fields of roses known in that area four Exorcists would meet an old/new friend who would change their lives.
"Well, that went well," said a boy with red hair held back from his face with a green and black headband, his right eye is covered by an eye patch, around his neck is a red scarf. A short boy with white hair and silver eyes nods his agreement; he has a peculiar scar over his left eye that didn't seem to interfere with his vision. A man with short black hair slicked back from his face except for one long white streak that fell in front of his face wrung his hands looking a bit worried and sad.
"Yes, it did," said a short girl with black hair pulled into pigtails; she smiled at the white haired boy, who smiled back. "Krory," she said. The man looked at her and smiled weakly at her slightly showing his pointed teeth. "Are you alright?" she asked concern on her face. He nodded.
"I'm just fine," he said glancing at a smoking piece of Akuma flesh near his feet. He looked out at the road, his brow furrowed. He looked at the girl and said, "Lenalee, do you see that?" pointing to the end of the road where a hazy figure was walking toward the group.
"I do," she said.
The closer the figure came, the clearer it became. It was a person in a black cloak trimmed in white, with a large hood that hid their face. The cloak had the crest of the Black Order over the wearer's heart, with a large silver clasp holding it closed. A slender hand reached out from the folds of the cloak, and undid the clasp, a flash of black and silver, and a girl was fastened to the front of Krory.
"Hello Krory!" she said. Her arms were wrapped around his neck, and her legs were wrapped around his waist. Krory's beetle black eyes were huge, and he was whimpering like a small child. Slowly he relaxed and hugged her back even thought he had no idea who she was. She let go and smiled up at him, she had eyes of blue-green, and hair of onyx that fell to her hips.
"Hello, it's nice to meet you Krory," she said in a sweet voice. Krory felt his heart take off; he smiled weakly back at her before being interrupted by the red headed boy.
"Lexi!" he yelled with open arms, and a huge grin.
"Lavi!" she yelled back. They hugged and then they high fived, pounded it, then Krory lost track of their movements; all he caught was the end. Lavi flipped Lexi over his shoulder and twirled her into a dip, a huge smile on both their faces. "Just like old times," she said.
"God, Alexa I missed you," said Lavi.
"I missed you too Lavi," she said tugging on his scarf. "Now introduce me to everyone."
"K," said Lavi. "Well, it seems you already know Krory," he said motioning to Krory his pointed ears tinged red. "That's, Allen," he motioned to the white haired boy. "But you can call him short stack."
Alexa stood in front of Allen and looked him over. "I'm really not that much taller than him, so short stack is out of the question," she said. Allen smiled. "Now … Snow white works better." She said ruffling his hair. Allen's smile faded.
"That is the beautiful Lenalee," he said gesturing grandly to the girl with the pigtails.
"The ladies man like always," said Alexia smirking.
"Excuse me," said Allen. "But, how do you and Lavi know each other?"
"We grew up together," she said. "He was my next door neighbor until he met Bookman and decided to be his apprentice," her face fell. Krory knew what it felt like to be alone; he wanted to help her somehow. "Then last year I approached a finder and he brought me back to The Order, where I became an Exorcist, and Komui sent me to find you yesterday and now here I am!" she said and sucked in a big breath. "Wow that was a mouthful."
Everyone's eyes were huge. "Yesterday, Komui sent you yesterday. How?" Lavi said dumbfounded.
"Oh, you guys don't know. My bad," she said rolling her shoulders. Two black as midnight wings appeared over her shoulders. "That's how. This is my innocence," she said like it was no big deal. Lavi walked up to her as if in a daze, he reached out and touched them.
"Dang, Lexi, they're beautiful." His brow furrowed. "But, how do you use them as a weapon?"He asked looking her in the eye. She blushed and looked at the ground.
"You're gonna think I'm really weird, but I have two." She said in a quiet voice.
"Two what" asked Krory. She looked up at him and bit her bottom lip, he felt his heart beat stutter.
"Two sets of innocence," she said a worried crease appearing between her eyebrows. Lavi couldn't hide the shock on his face.
"Two," he said. Lexi nodded. He felt a smile cross his face. "Cool!" he yelled. "My best friend has doubly the awesomeness!" she smiled like he knew she would. "Come on; if we're going to find Cross we'd better get a move on."
