A Scandalous Proposition

By sky is blue

" I--have a proposition to make!" He announced grandly, waving his arms about flamboyantly. The group of people in front of him looked at him with annoyance. Said annoying bug had been fluttering around them incessantly as soon as they had gotten off on the island, muttering inanely about 'letting me on your ship' and the like.

" I'm going to offer you something, and you're going to let me off this god forsaken island in return." He grinned widely, a grin that signified that his brain wasn't quite in order…and his dark eyes glittered just as manically to match the previous notion.

But the rumrunners were less than amused. After all, they had a job to do here, and this silly man was standing in their way. There were several derisive snorts that sprouted from some, eyeing the man in front of them with…pity. Yes…a man like this deserved no scorn…just…pity…

" And what do you have, sir, that could interest us?" One of them asked, narrowing her eyes and crossing her arms.

The odd man leaned forward, looking at the woman strangely.

" Everything you could ever want, love. All that you've ever desired." His hands motioned about wildly. "Think about that. Everything."

His warm breath suddenly tickled the sides of her cheek enticingly, making her involuntarily shiver. Her expression turned to one of wariness.

" Enlighten me." She spat out. A slow, almost sinisterly smile crawled up the pirate's tanned face.

" How's rum, you, me and a night all by ourselves sound to you?" He asked, hand on her shoulder. As he said this, and as she watched his eyes widen and narrow for emphasis, realization hit her naïve mind like a great, big, tidal wave.

" You're bartering off passage with sex." She stared at him with disgust, her voice dull and monotonous. He merely shrugged, as if it were something that he did every day.

" Well, you could be blunt about it and put it that way…" He grinned again, flashing his gold teeth. " But don't tell me its something you don't want, love." Oh, that cocky tone of his! Her hand fisted in response to him, and she saw him wince and take a step backwards. He put his hands out in front of him.

" For the love of god--don't even think of slapping me, woman!" If the situation hadn't had her quite as angry, she would've laughed at his antics.

" I do NOT want your services, you scoundrel!" Her face had gone quite red at the very prospect of it…more so because perhaps, there was some truth behind his words. Undoubtedly, there was something oddly attractive about the roguish grin, and those tattered clothes of his, and those dark, chocolate colored eyes…

Through the midst of her shouts, however, he remained unfazed, staring at her with mild concern, though still keeping a considerable amount of space between the two of them.

After her rants had faded away, she remained fuming silently in front of him, chest heaving up and down as the other rumrunners stared at her with laughter in their expressions.

" Alright then!" He clapped his hands together. " We have a deal!" With a wink, the man staggered backwards, giving her one last sloppy grin.

" The name's Jack Sparrow, by the way!" He called, as he wandered off into the trees. " Just so you know which name to passionately call out tonight, savvy?" He tipped his hat and bowed wildly, before disappearing completely.

The woman's angered screams echoed well into the distance.

A/N: Aha. *coughs* Ahem. Yea. It'd be nice if you reviewed. Who knows, maybe I'll write a companion piece to it…a little smutlet about 'the night'. Hmm.
