Disclaimer: I do not own The Hunger Games :(
Clove stuck her head around the corner, sneaking a peak at what was on the stage. Glimmer sat there, in her provocative see-through gown, flirting shamelessly with Caesar. It was no guess what her angle was.
She felt Cato's head loom over hers, and they watched Glimmer in silence together. She felt a scowl form on her face without warning. Glimmer was pretty, gorgeous really, golden hair falling in soft, perfect waves over her shoulder. Blue eyes shining like diamonds. Skin so perfectly flawless. Clove reached up to her nose and touched her freckles and couldn't help as her scowl deepened. People that perfect annoyed her.
Cato watched her trace her freckled nose absentmindedly. He knew what she was thinking from the look on her face, a scowl like that on Clove could only mean she was jealous.
He honestly didn't know what she was jealous about. She was pretty too, in her own way. Her freckles, he hated to admit it, we're adorable. Her soft brown hair was piled on top of her head and falling down into her face in soft curls, and it looked amazing. And her red dressed flowed around her and was the perfect colour, making her bright green eyes glow.
God, he was such a sap when it came to Clove.
Unable to stand the silence much longer, he cleared his throat awkwardly. 'She looks nice.'
He mentally slapped himself when Clove's scowl deepened. 'She looks absolutely gorgeous,' she huffed out a frustrated breath, 'No wonder you two are being paired together by our mentors.'
'Clove,' he sounded annoyed, 'I told you, it's just for the games.'
'It doesn't change the fact that you both are perfect,' she looked at him, and her eyes were glassy.
He didn't know whether to take it as a compliment or an insult, and he didn't get a chance to decide because a man with a clip bored approached the group of tributes and called out, 'District 2, Clove,' and then he was taking her arm and leading her away.
She blinked a few times as she followed, as if trying to clear her eyes. Hurriedly, Cato called out after her.
'Clove!' he called and she looked back him over her shoulder. He was earning a few glances from the other tributes, but he didn't care. They would all be dead soon anyway. 'You look beautiful!'
She instantly smiled, beaming at him, her eyes lighting up, and it was the happy he had seen her since they arrived at the Capitol.
'You too!' she called back, not caring about how stupid it sounded, and then turned back to follow the man, still smiling. If Cato thought she looked beautiful, then that's all that mattered.
A/N: Man, I'm turning Cato into such a sap, I swear.
I keep doing these short little things with completely no plot.
Baaaah.
Someone asked me to write more Marvel by the way, but I have no idea what I write about, so if you have any ideas, please let me know!
I hated Glimmers interview dress in the movie. It looked like a freaking tutu. What was with that?
I don't know what it is with me and the interviews lately. I keep walking around going 'It's an honor to represent my district'
Ily Cato :D
