Prompt #16: Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!" (Robin Williams)

A/N: I've been to that Stonehenge replica. And that party...

You know you've had an interesting night when you wake up shirtless, face down in the middle of a henge circle with a dozen rubber snakes sticking out the top of your jeans and half your face painted green à la William Wallace.

It took me a minute to realize I had not, in fact, been abducted by evil sex-fiend faeries (which isn't nearly as fun as it sounds).

God, my life is insane.

Yesterday (pretty sure it was yesterday) I'd roadtripped up to a university not far from Ebenezer's farm to check out their half-scale replica of Stonehenge… and stayed for the Saint Patrick's Day celebrations.

Not the best idea I've ever had. They take that shit seriously here. The last thing I remember is green Jell-O shots and freakdancing with what I hope was a girl (it was dark, okay?) to Daft Punk on somebody's desk.

Interesting fact: engineering nerds can drink like you wouldn't believe.

My legal guardian/magical mentor/grumpy old dude's truck rumbled to a stop at the curb. I'd called him about an hour ago from a payphone. I stood up (wobbling) and helped him put my car (missing a front wheel and tire, what the fuck, college kids?) on the tow bar. Ebenezer was deathly quiet until we were in a drive-thru at a McDonald's.

"Hoss, if you didn't look so damned funny, you'd be in deep shit right now."

He gave me a sideways look. I nodded.

"I reckon you already feel bad enough, but I know from experience you ain't learned your lesson. You're still mucking out the barn when we get home."

I nodded again. It hurt. He passed me a paper cup and a handful of sugar packets.

"What in hell happened to you, boy?"

"Catholicism," I said. "Or higher education. I'm still not sure."

He snorted and hid a grin behind his coffee cup.
