I was awakened by a hollow clunking sound. I moaned in irritation and sluggishly opened my eyes. It was dark, but not dark enough that it made me incapable of taking in my surroundings. To my far left were three white leather recliners. There was a child curled up on one of the seats.

Where was I? Oh, of course. How could I ever forget? I was whisked away from my former orphanage, and here I am, on a highly refined airplane.

My new caretaker told me that my new home was a place exclusively for children of great intellect. Wow, how ego -stroking wasthat?

'Forgive me for disturbing you,' a monotonous voice softly murmured. I suppressed a gasp, and gazed at the unfamiliar figure before me. He had unruly raven hair and his eyes looked as if it were two cold black coals. He was hunching over with a book in his right hand. His face was impassive as if it were carved from stone. I discreetly swallowed, still shaken by his intrusion.

"Are you done musing?" Came the voice, I thought it slightly hinted amusement.

"Yes, I am." I answered loftily.

There was a long pause. He narrowed his eyes and stared at me. The idiot was asking for it, I childishly glared at him. He, likewise, returned the glare. You are soo going down, I internally growled.

"Goodbye" He abruptly said, leaving me confused. How sad, my entertainer abandoned me. I realized that I urgently needed to use a bathroom. I undone my seatbelt and gave out a low squeal as I rushed to the lavatory (Which made me feel rather stupid). I came out much refreshed and very much…bored.

I decided to explore the place, dearly hoping my poor soul would not get caught. I trudged down the carpet, seats, seats with children on it, and more seats. I sighed in utter disappointment. I gave up the expedition and plopped down wearily onto a seat.

I froze when I heard low scraping sounds beside me. I instinctively turned my head.

"Hello"

I reeled back in slight shock. He looked precisely as the boy I had met earlier. His hair was tamer, and his eyes were vaguely warmer than the eyes I had met earlier. He gazed at me while moving his left shoulder. I curiously looked down; he was slicing slivers of wood of a half-done…swan?

I gawked at its slender neck, if only if there was sufficient light!

"It's beautiful" I murmured softly. I kept my hands to myself though I was tempted to touch it.

He kept silent, busily filing away bits of wood. "Leave me" He suddenly spoke up. His expression was foreboding. Though a typical human would shy away from such a face, I was intrigued by it.

"May I at least see the swan in light?" I asked sincerely. He twitched at my suggestion. I testily reached out for the light button on the armchair of my seat. "Don't!" he cried, slapping away my hand.

I stared at his bewildered face.

"Go. Now"

He started filing madly at the swan. "I'm sorry" I whispered and took off. What did he fear?

Try as I might I could not sleep. I could not stop myself from fidgeting. Eventually I squirmed myself into slumber.
