PROLOGUE
SCHOOL IS OUT! And summer couldn't have come any sooner for the gang at East High. Thanks to musicale sensations, unforgettable championships, and friendships formed from the unlikeliest of places, this was going to be the summer to remember. New jobs, new twists, and best of all… new faces.
Ever since the Fall Production Fiasco (which the students of West High never dare speak of to this date), Miranda Cho has been waiting for the day when her fellow West High classmates no longer called her "the jinx". Though "jinx" may be the understatement of the year, Miranda just can't ever seem to get things right. Whether it was inadvertently causing West High's star pitcher to break his arm two days before nationals, or losing the girl's championship soccer game because her cleats were untied, "oops" seemed to be the word she spoke most often. But this summer Miranda wants all that to change, and she'll stop at nothing to make that change happen. She wants everyone to see the person she can be, even if she isn't entirely sure who that person is.
Drew Holmquist: genius, songster, most popular guy around… well two out of three isn't bad right? To the students of West High, Drew was that nice kid who never really said much, never really stood out from the crowd… yeah he pretty much faded into the student body background, well save for one minor detail… he just happened to be a certified genius. But what were brains to a student body that found starring in a band-aid commercial took higher priority in the popularity food chain? In any case, Drew never felt he had to prove himself, until this summer. Maybe letting your best friend drag you into her life altering plans isn't the smartest thing to do, but maybe Drew was just starting to get tired of always doing the smart thing.
So what will happen when these two West High knights meet up with a few of East High's famous wildcats? Only the summer can tell…
