Anchor

(The earth that is the space between, I'd banish it from under me...to get to you. -One Sweet Love, Sara Bareilles)

Andromeda collapsed to her knees, her hands reaching for the stone header. The words engraved were in English, but for some reason she couldn't read them – they swam in front of her eyes, and as if rejecting the thought that it had actually happened, she couldn't read them clearly.

Little Teddy was next to her, quiet and watching, but for once Andromeda ignored her grandson, instead dwelling on the loss of the past.

Her whole family was buried in this graveyard – or at least, the only ones worthy of being called family. Ted, 'Dora, Remus.

A choked sob escaped her, and Teddy's eyes widened. Her hand reached out blindly to embrace him, crushing him close to her side.

Maybe when he's older, he'll understand the only thing not making Andromeda free herself from the pain of her family gone, is the anchor that is him.

A/N: Just a drabbley piece I wrote for the promptinabox challenge on livejournal. Reviews are loved!
