When Jo asked him about who one and two were on his speed dial he shot her a glare. It was really none of her business. He didn't really even understand how she didn't have Andy's cell number on her own phone. After all, she had been working at 15th for a few weeks already and he knew she had most of the other officers programmed into her phone. Unless it was a territorial thing...revolving around Luke. He rolled his eyes.
Hours later, when Andy was safe and shift was over, he really started to think about it.
Number one - thanks to his lovely cell phone provider - was voicemail.
Number two was Sarah.
Number three - Andy.
It was kinda obvious to have her on speed dial. After all, he was her training officer.
Before going undercover, his speed dials were Oliver as three, Frank as four, Noelle as five, Jerry as six and the station as seven.
As soon as he became a T.O., his own T.O.s advice came back to him about making you rookies speed dials. Andy became three and Gail became four since he was paired with Andy more than Gail. He was barely ever paired with the other three rookies so he didn't bother setting them as speed dials. Oliver and Frank were relegated to eight and nine respectively.
The reason Jo's comment made him think wad because as soon as the ties were cut, he moved Gail out of his speed dial. Frank moved back to four but Oliver never made it back to three. Now that he thought about it, Oliver's comment made sense. Oliver's T.O., Tommy McNally, had given Oliver the same advice. Oliver knew that he used to be number three on Sam's speed dial. Sam's revelation to Jo today had hinted to the fact that he really did care more about Andy than just his rookie.
It was something to ponder later. Right now, Andy was going to the hospital to see Luke and he was planning on getting very drunk so he wouldn't have to think about his rookie (well, not really a rookie anymore) and how he had almost lost her again today.
