AN: Characters are not mine, but I'm sure you know that. If they were, I wouldn't be writing fanfiction, would I?

"Venus Crescent Beam!"

"Jupiter Thunder Dragon!"

The attack flung back at the two senshi in retaliation was powerful, but they both leapt out of the way. Or so it seemed, until the smoke cleared, and Sailor Venus could be seen slumped at the base of a tree, unconscious.

"Right. You don't get away with that when I'm around." Sailor Jupiter turned to face the youma, and unleashed her strongest attack. Leaving Sailor Moon to finish the job, she ran over to check on Venus. Realising that a battlefield wasn't the best place for her, Jupiter picked her up and left, the other three close behind.

Hikawa Shrine wasn't far away, and they'd have some privacy. It was where the Sailor Scouts had met to discuss their enemies (and everything else) ever since Sailor Mars had first appeared. Detransformed, Raye crouched in front of the fire, attempting a psychic reading to find out what was wrong with Sailor Venus, while Ami ran a detailed scan on her computer. Before they'd finished, Venus groaned and sat up.

"Ugh, I must have hit something hard."

"You idiot, Mina. Can't you move a bit quicker?"

"Lita, please." Ami rested her head on one hand. She didn't want to deal with one of their arguments now.

"It's probably best if everyone stays here tonight. I'll get some rooms ready. No-one minds sharing, do they?"

The chorused replies indicated that no, they didn't mind, so Raye left to organise the rooms.

…………………

A few hours later, everyone was settling down to sleep. Somehow, Mina and Lita had ended up sharing a room, which probably wasn't a good idea.

"Mina?"

"Hmm?"

"Sorry I went off on you like that."

"Hey, don't worry. It's only 'cause you care, right?"

Lita was suddenly very glad it was dark, because it meant Mina couldn't see her. Mina, as Sailor Venus, had always been perceptive about love and matters of the heart, but this was something she'd kept very quiet. She'd even kept up comparisons between various boys and "the senior who broke my heart", since it would have been noticed very quickly if she'd stopped. Realising she still had to answer, she tried to calm down.

"Mina…"

An answering snore came from the other side of the room. "I'd forgotten about the snoring," she thought. Sighing, she rolled over and pulled the blankets up to her ears.

…………………

"Oh, not again. Why can't they just leave us alone for a day or two?"

Part-way through her rant about the inconsiderate Negaverse, Sailor Jupiter was distracted by a loud scream, and turned to see Sailor Venus flying through the air towards her. She didn't have time to move, and they both fell in an ungainly heap to the ground.

"Right, that does it." Sailor Jupiter stood up, and brushed dirt off her outfit. "You don't get away with attacking someone I care about. Jupiter Thunder Dragon!"

Sailor Venus lay there, utterly confused. Lita had never acted this way about any of the other senshi, and they'd all been attacked plenty of times. That must mean she… thought of Mina as more than just a friend. How had she managed to miss that? Possibly because she was having to try so hard to conceal her own feelings from Lita.

Now, she wondered, which one of them would be brave enough to make the first move?"
