"Jason, what're you doin'?" Kate's eyes peered at the man sitting across from her, his glassy eyes set upon the picturesque two story across the street. She could see his mouth curl into half a smirk.

"Jason?"

"You stay here, Kate."

He'd left the car.

Inside, she knew what he was about to do, but she wasn't going to stop it. You couldn't really stop Jason.

Ana Lucia sat on the bench in the locker room, staring at the weapon in her hands. It was a mimicry of an earlier scene several weeks ago, when she'd been sitting on her bed with a pregnancy test in her hands.

Mike peeked his head into the locker isle and tapped on the lockers.

"Hey, we need to get going. Shifts in a bit."

Ana looked up, nodded and rose. Mike left her to finish suiting up.

Kate nibbled her nails. Jason'd been too long. What was he doing? No, she knew what he was doing...why was it taking so freaking long? She started every time a car idled past. Pedestrians all seemed to be giving her strange, suspicious looks when they walked past. She kept making sure the lights were off. The windows down, doors locked. Her neck ached from jerking back time and again to check out the window, hoping to see Jason's figure running to the car. Suddenly, a car alarm went off. Kate nearly jumped out of her skin until she realized it was coming from someone else's vehicle. She bit her nails hard. Hurry up, Jase.

The call had gone out. They were on the move. A burglary was in progress and several patrol cars were racing to the scene. Mike had commented with a grin to his strangely quiet partner that things were finally heating up.

"And you thought this'd be a boring night."

Things happened quickly for Kate. Before the first squad car had screeched to the scene, Kate had heard it's loud sirens in the distance and for some reason, had started reminiscing of picking out a prom dress with her mother (she had specified a simple, dual color affair and instead mom had bought this outlandish thing with lace and color all over the place). Her heart was beating a million times a minute. She could easily run now. Just hit the ignition and beat it. But Jason...she had to wait for Jason. She couldn't leave Jason now. She watched the two cops leap out of the car and race towards the house. There was much yelling for a brief moment, then eerie silence.

Then gunshots.

Kate stared out of the window. Soon, a figure raced from around the side of the house, a full bag swinging and clanking from it's clenched hands. Kate unlocked the door just as Jason cranked open the door, slid in and slammed it shut.

"Go, go go!"

Kate floored it, and the car sped off down the streets of suburbia.
