AN: Found this on my hard I may as well post it while I try to summon the necessary angst to work on Healing again. Reviews are love!
People sometimes forget, but there were four kunoichi in the famous Konoha 12.
Two of them were never forgotten. They were famous and feared throughout the ninja villages.
Haruno Sakura, apprentice to the legendary Sannin and Godaime Hokage. Super strength, amazing healing abilities, and a brash fearlessness that often left her enemies cowering. Sakura was a force to be reckoned with, and everyone knew it.
Hyuuga Hinata – a Hyuuga, and not much more needs to be said. Not the heiress, but a fearsome gentle-fist user none the less. The whispers of her timidity were swallowed by the stories of the things she had accomplished to protect her home and her family. All had heard of her, and perhaps more importantly her family. No one could forget a Hyuuga.
But people seemed to stop paying attention after that. Not noticing that that was just two. It was easy to think of Sakura and Hinata when one thought of the Konoha kunoichi, if one thought of them at all. Easier still to focus on Uchiha Sasuke – Sharingan wielder, Uzumaki Naruto – Rokudaime Hokage, Nara Shikamaru – genius tactician, Hyuuga Neji – most gifted gentle fist user the Hyuugas had ever seen. The list goes on. So easy to forget that there are two more kunoichi from the group fighting, bleeding for Konoha.
Tenten. Weapons mistress. No clan, no family. Tall, slender, quiet. She didn't ask for attention. She lurked behind and around the two shining stars of her team, lashing out with quiet fury and deadly precision. Perfect aim every time. Perhaps that is why she was never in the Bingo books. Why no one whispered her name in dread. No one got away from her to tell tales. The dead whisper no secrets.
Yamanaka Ino. Mindwalker. As different from Tenten as night from day, she has a well-known clan and a loud personality. Ino you saw and didn't forget. But, somehow, you forgot what was most important. People who saw Ino did not see a kunoichi, they saw a girl. And they forgot that with a look in your eyes and a discrete handsign she could rip your memories out of your mind and leave you screaming and empty, forever. They forgot that she had fought Sakura, and tied – still did, as a matter of fact. Perhaps most importantly, they forgot looks really can kill. If anyone ever did get away, no one believed their tales. She was a slip of a girl, vain, loud, annoying. Emotional, not a kunoichi. What happens in the interrogation chambers and on stealth missions stays in the dark, after all.
So when people think of the Konoha kunoichi, they think of two. But the girls know that they are four, and always will be.
