Hey guys, this is Naru here, and I finally got around to another story^^ This takes place after the night that Lloyd finds Colette awake and unable to fall asleep. Some people could consider this a Colloyd story, but it is up to you to decide. This is now the second version since I made changes to the dialouge like PrincessRibbon suggested. Thank you very much and if you like this, REVIEW ^^
Sigh.
It was another restless night for a certain chosen. A toss and a turn there, get a glass of water, look at the stars, then close your eyes and hope that maybe you could fall asleep. It had been like this for a while now. She would lie in bed for hours on end, wishing that she could dream again, but she couldn't.
"Um, Colette?" a figure rose from the darkness.
"Oh, Lloyd," she gave a false laugh," is something wrong?"
"That's my line." He stated bluntly.
As he took a seat next to her, a thought struck her head. This was the second time he found her awake at the middle of the night. Was he beginning to notice? No, he couldn't possibly…but…maybe…
"So, why are you up so late?" the words out of nowhere startled her from her thoughts.
"Huh? O-oh n-nothing, I was just looking at the stars, hehe."
There was that fake laugh again. "Colette…you know that if something's bothering you, you can tell me, right?" Came the question she knew was bound to come up.
Again she thought to herself, but the answer never came up. Of course she knew she could tell him, but whether she wanted to was another thing. It wasn't that she didn't trust him. No, that wasn't it. It was more that she didn't want to worry anyone. She wasn't worth his worry.
"Colette, I just…wanted you to know I'll always be here if you want to talk." He said at last.
Smile.
There it was. The thing that, even though he knew it was a fake, assured him. She knows he thought. She knows, that she can count on me. She knows that when she wants to share whatever is worrying her that I'm here. Even though she never answered the question, he walked away. Before he went back to sleep though, he added in two more words.
"Good night," he said.
"Good night, Lloyd" she answered.
Once again the words came to her like they did the time before. Dream some good dreams for me. And so another night without rest is here again.
Sigh.
