I stood, transfixed, lightning flashing all around me, illuminating the clouds every few seconds, filling the world with thunder, and then returning it all to pitch blackness and silence. The rain stung my skin, biting into me, and soaking me through. Wind was blowing against my face, whiping my hair around it. I closed my eyes and breathed in the fresh smell of rain and wind.
"You shouldn't be out this late Lily," said a voice over my sholder.
My face broke into a smile, "I've always loved the rain," I whispered back.
I opened my eyes just in time for a crash of thunder and a flash of lightning to illuminate the silhoette of a face hovering over my left sholder. We both stood absolutely still in the momentery silence, then as the next bout of thunder rolled, his hands moved to rest on my arms, just above my elbows. I could feel his breath warming my cheek, I wanted him to stay there forever, protecting me. But he couldn't. My smile faded.
"What are you doing here Sev?" I asked.
He sighed, "I don't know Lily. Theres nothing to say that you haven't already heard."
I shrugged his arms off and stepped forward to lean on the railing. "You're a Death Eater, Sev. It's evil, what they do, how can you stand it?" my voice cracked, "I'm part of the Order, Severus. I fight against You-Know-Who, not with him." I bite my lip, holding back tears.
"I- Lily I- I'm sory."
I heard him shift behind me, getting ready to disapperate.
I gasp and turn around, "No!" I shout.
I see him stop, mid-dissaparating-turn, and then I'm in his arms. Tears run down my cheeks and I whisper, my words muffled by sobs, "Don't leave me."
"Never," he whispers back.
