If You Only Knew

Description: If you only knew I write songs about you... Kelsi/Troy (Oneshot)

Disclaimer: I disclaim everything

Kelsi sighed as she watched Troy talk to Chad and Jason. They were talking about sports, (Kelsi honestly wasn't sure which one,) but she wasn't paying to that. She was entirely engrossed in the way Troy's eyes sparkled when he was particularly happy about something, like he was then.

Just then, Troy looked over at Kelsi and smiled at her. The tiny brunette turned bright red and shyly smiled back. As the basketball star turned by to his conversation, Kelsi slumped back into her chair. She was pathetic. She always seemed to turn into a blubbering idiot around Troy Bolton. Sure, she was shy around most people, but it seemed to be amplified around him. And everyone knew it but him

Ryan was the first to notice. That made sense because, out of their group of friends, they spent the most time together; they were the closest. Kelsi sighed. She liked Ryan, a lot, but she liked Troy so much more. Next came Martha, who was pretty observant. (She didn't need to be observant to figure Kelsi's little "secret" out, though.) And then Sharpay, who scared the details out of the poor composer. Taylor eventually figured it out and then she immediately told Chad, who told Zeke, who told, a thoroughly disappointed, Jason. Gabriella was in denial about sweet little Kelsi liking Troy, and had convinced herself that her short friend was really just in love with Ryan and refused to admit it. She was constantly trying too hook them up.

Kelsi took one of the pencils she had stuck in her hair and wrote down a few notes on a half-filled piece of sheet music she had with her. This song, like so many others she had written lately, was about unrequited love. A poor girl was singing about how she was completely in love with a guy who was oblivious. If you only knew, Kelsi wrote. She looked over at Troy again and let out another sigh. Kelsi went back to her song.

"What's up, Kels?" Troy asked her, walking over to her. Kelsi jumped and let out a small "eep". "Are you okay?"

"Ye-yah," Kelsi said, as her heart-rate returned to normal, "You just startled me, that's all."

Troy chuckled, "Sorry"

"D-don't worry about it," the brunette said, blushing.

"What are you writing?" Troy asked, looking down at her latest song.

"N-nothing!" Kelsi replied, covering the sheet.

"Can I see it, please?"

Kelsi seriously hated how she always gave into him. "Sure," she said, handing him the piece of paper.

"Poor girl..."Troy said slowly as his eyes scanned the noted and lyrics.

"Huh?"

"Oh, nothing," Troy said, "I was justing thinking about how awful it would be to be like that. To like someone and have them not know,"

"If you only knew, Troy" Kelsi said, sadly.

A/N: I just wrote this to get my creative juices flowing. I need to get back in the habit of writing. It was inspired by "If You Only Knew" by Savannah Outen
