Glass Windows

That day had started sooner than usual. He had arrived at the office early in the morning

because he couldn't sleep. Not that he usually slept much, but that night nightmares had kept

him awake for hours.

He was a bit tired and since nobody was around he decided to prepare some coffee using the

brand new coffee machine Felicity had chosen for the office, but almost never used since

she preferred a cup of steaming non-fat latte from the coffee shop.

Slowly he walked through those odious glass windows and entered his office. He hated

them, they deprived him of any kind of privacy.

He sat down on the black swivel chair and waited. He didn't know exactly what to do

because it was Felicity who usually planned his day and meetings so he just leaned his head

on the soft chair and closed his eyes trying to get some rest in the dark.

After barely ten minutes the doors of the elevator opened and a rush of fear shook his body.

He widened his eyes ready to attack a possible intruder but immediately closed them as a

blond ponytail swung across the hallway.

It was Felicity.

She entered the office with a cup of coffee in one hand and her phone in the other. She still

had her coat on but he could clearly see the bright purple collar of what he was sure was a

button up shirt popping out.

She was bobbing her head and mouthing something. He realized she was listening to music

when he saw the black earphones in her ears. She was singing.

It was adorable.

She slowly took off her coat and sat down at her desk. She probably didn't notice his

presence because she kept on singing and started to spin on her chair.

He could ear her voice and see the funny expressions she was making with her face. She

was so into the song.

He leaned his head and the angles of his lips unconsciously raised into a smile. One of those

he only reserved to Felicity.

He took a sip of his coffee and kept watching her.

Her presence calmed him. She was the only one who was able to make him forget about all

the shit that was going on and all those nightmares that had kept him awake for years. She

was dear to him like a favorite puppet is to a child. The one that you hug at night when

you're scared, the one that you share your secrets with. She was his safe place to hide, so

precious and unspoiled.

He had to keep her safe, he needed to.

He was lost in his thoughts when he noticed that the office was suddenly silent.

He looked up to see that Felicity was now aware of his presence and as a consequence had

stopped singing.

He smiled and waved his hand to say hi and she did the same. She waved him back and then

turned her face to the other side. She muttered something and closed her eyes embarrassed.

She was probably talking to herself, cursing herself..she always did that hoping that nobody

would ear but he did.

He always paid attention to her.

Oliver noticed that her cheeks were red. She was blushing.

That was even more adorable.

After all the glass windows weren't that bad. They allowed him to have the best view in

Starling City. And he wasn't exactly referring to the skyline.
