A/N For the rascally boys in my life who need sweet dreams of adventure, bravery and kindness

My thanks and gratitude to Astrid Lindgren for creating Pippi Longstockings' character.

It was a dark and stormy night; Jackson and Owen were snuggled in their bottom bunk bed, reading with flashlights. Tomorrow was the first day of summer vacation and the weather was supposed to be lousy. To make matters worse, the boys were really sad that their next door neighbors had moved away. All the past summers they had wild adventures in the backyard they shared with Mia and Ben. Now the weather was terrible and it was just going to be the 2 of them.

As Jackson peeked out his window at the lonely yellow house next door, he was surprised to see a candle flickering in the kitchen. "Owen, lookit.." he hissed.

"Mummmaaaa, Daaaaad…." The boys yelled "There is a light on at the old Lynch place."

"No there isn't, no one lives there, go to sleep" the tired parents yelled back.

Once their parents were asleep, the boys snuck next door to investigate.

To their pleasure and surprise they stumbled upon a mischievous looking girl and her pet monkey roasting marshmallows over the stove's gas flame.

All of a sudden the boys suspected their summer vacation might not be as boring as they first thought.
