Chapter 1 New York or Not?

Veronica's POV

I was waiting for my father when I heard the last call for the flight to LA with a direct flight to New York. My father had stood me up. I walked over to the ticket desk.

"Can I change my flight? My father was supposed to meet me here, but he never showed up."

The woman at the desk took her ticket and typed a few things into her computer.

"Is your father Keith Mars?"

"Yes!"

She typed a couple more things and then said, "We don't have another direct flight until tomorrow. Is that ok?"

I nodded. She printed up some new tickets and handed them to me.

"Is there any way to get my luggage off the phone?"

"No, but I could call ahead and have the luggage stopped in L.A. and you can meet up with it tomorrow."

I nodded. She grabbed her carry on and purse and walked out of the boarding area. She pulled out her phone and dialed a number I knew by heart.

Logan's POV

I picked up my ringing phone. I was sitting in the Neptune Grand's Presidential Suite. I was waiting for Dick. He was going to come and we were going to party.

I glanced at the caller ID before answering.

"Sugar puss, aren't you supposed to be on a plane on the way to the Big Apple?"

"My dad didn't show up . I waited and then she changed the flight tomorrow. Can you come pick me up?"

"Yeah, just let me call Dick. He was supposed to come over."

Veronica's POV

I waited patiently for Logan. We had only been back together for a few hours and I couldn't wait to see him.

I agreed when he, in his drunken blur, had called us epic.

Duncan had been a placeholder in her heart. He was perfect for the pre-Lilly's death, and pre-Cassidy rape victim, naïve girl I had been. I had grown up quickly after these incidents. I lost something good when I broke up with Logan. I admit, at the time, Logan was not ready for us. He had needed to grow up a little. It had become glaring obvious over our senior year that Duncan just wasn't for me. He had moved on. He may not have realized it, but he had fallen for Meg. I had turned to him, I admit now, because I knew Logan wasn't ready and I wanted to go back to the Me before Lilly had died. In doing this, our end was inevitable.

I saw the jackass yellow X-Terra pull up to the curb.

"Thanks, Logan."

I leaned in and kissed him.

"Where to?"

"Let's go to the Neptune Grand. I can call my dad from there."

Logan's POV

I picked Veronica up. She looked just the way I had left her an hour before.

"So what do you think of using my dad's ticket and going to New York with me?" Veronica asked me.

"How about we piss your dad off completely and upgrade them to first class and go to Vegas instead?"

AN: I'm probably going to crossover with Gilmore Girls. If I do, should it be post season 7 and Logan H. visiting Logan E. or post season 4 and Michum insists Logan E., his nephew visit him with his new bride?
