/This is what it's like to be Ben Solo/

/Swirling Dark about a thorn of Light

Raging, raging against that Light

Trying hard to succumb to the Dark

The Force is so strong/

/The Power with which he'd been born

Left him torn and alone

Trust destroyed, he ran

From his Uncle's home/

/Torn in two, he killed his Father

Yet he couldn't bring himself to kill his Mother

Then the Girl came to him, on her own

Willingly, but not to join/

/They fought together,

Back to back as he'd foreseen

But She resisted his plea

Like his parents, She didn't understand/

/His Master dead, now the power is his

Time to tame the Dark

Not to make his Grandfather's mistake

Time to fulfill his Destiny/

/He would see her again

Of this he was sure

Something about her

He would crush her pitiful Resistance/

/The Light extinguished in his soul?

Fallen to the Dark forevermore?

The fury of Darkness

Raging against the Light/

/This is what it's like to be Ben Solo/

/Full of Fury and Rage

Loneliness and Despair

Fear and Loathing

Emotions unchecked

That go to Eleven/

In his quarters, he fumed. The Force brought him no peace, only fear and dread. He had to figure out how to kill Ben Solo, that lonely frightened child hiding in the center of his consciousness. He'd killed his father but couldn't kill his mother. She needed to be next then and maybe the boy would stop whimpering in his Force visions.

He tried once more to commune with his grandfather through the Force but the results were murky at best. There was a mix of Dark and Light that confused Kylo; he couldn't understand what he was sensing. Was it Darth Vader or Anakin Skywalker? Was there really a difference? If so, what? Where had Vader failed? Luke. Everything that was wrong in Kylo's life was Luke's fault. Skywalker was gone. Kylo had been robbed of his revenge against his uncle. Rey was out there somewhere. Kylo knew he had to find her but maybe not today.

Kylo was not ready for the mantle of leadership but he'd killed his Master anyway, out of cold fury. Snoke had manipulated him like he was a plaything, an amusing pet. Well, the foul creature was dead now. Kylo just had to figure out how to run a galaxy. He had no idea how to inspire loyalty except through fear so fear it would be then. Hux was useful but a snake, already plotting betrayal. Kylo seriously considered killing the man outright, in the most humiliating fashion possible of course.

His thoughts turned to Rey again. If only she'd joined him! How could she reject him like that? How dare she?
