Summary: Aisha is offered the opportunity of a lifetime. After deciding that she wants to do this, she has to decide who is worthy of taking her place as Zeo Ranger Two.
Author's Note: This is another part to my PR 'verse. This is where the PR part of the 'verse starts crossing over with other fandoms. I took a character from the Buffy 'verse and decided to make her a ranger in place of Tanya Sloan, who I am not a huge fan of. I settled on Tara, as she seems more like a Yellow than any of the others that I actually like. Faith seems more like a Red or a Sixth, while Cordelia is a total Pink.
Tara and Jason are immediate cousins, through their mothers, although the entire second generation treats each other as more siblings than cousins.
Let me know what y'all think.
Edit: So I recently decided to revamp the 'verse while working on later pieces. I completely changed who was related to whom, and as a result, I decided to rewrite most of what I had already posted.
This particular piece has changed a fair amount, as originally, only Jason and Tara were related, while I now decided that Adam was also related to them. Overall, however, the general premise of the story hasn't changed, with Aisha still settling on Tara to replace her as the Yellow Zeo Ranger.
Edit 2: So as much as I like Adam, his addition was making things too complicated, so I decided to go back to just having Jason and Tara be cousins. That ended up fixing a problem I was having in another piece. Again, though, the overall premise of the story hasn't really changed.

The Choice
Aisha was glad she had stayed. She had liked the Original Powers and she would always be grateful to Trini for giving her the opportunity to become a Ranger, but there was something about having a morpher that was all her own, not a hand-me-down. She loved the Zeo Powers and the Zeo Zords.
On top of that, she had gotten the chance to see and do things that she had never even imagined as possibilities. She had gotten a taste of Hollywood, first as an extra in a science fiction film and now as the star of a real, honest to god music video.
She had never been super musical growing up. She had much preferred hanging out with the boys and learning to fight. Singing had always been something she had done as more of an idle hobby rather than an active interest, although she had spent a good deal of time working at various radio stations over the years.
She had never considered that her singing was good enough to actually do something with it, though, even if she had enjoyed recording the school song with Kat.
Apparently she was a natural.
At least, that's what Joe Durden said when he offered her a recording contract.
It was honestly something she hadn't ever considered as a potential career. Her grandfather was very opinionated when it came to what he considered 'fluff' jobs, people who got paid to essentially play all day. Athletes, artists, musicians and actors all qualified.
Interning at the radio station was okay when she was younger, but it had always been expected that she either go into business, law or medicine. Since she loved animals so much, she had always figured she would go to vet school after college.
But now that this opportunity had been presented, she was very seriously considering taking it. After her trip to Africa, she had had the urge to travel the world and what better way to do that than as a singer?
She had done her time as a Ranger and she was starting to feel like it was the right time for her to move on.
The question then was: who did she pass the Power to?
She supposed Zordon could find a way to bring Tanya here, but she wasn't sure if that was the right path anymore. She had liked the girl well enough and would have given the yellow Crystal to her if she had chosen to stay in Africa, but now she felt like there was someone else who needed the Power more.
She just wasn't sure who that was. There wasn't really anyone in Angel Grove who she felt deserved the Power, or could handle the responsibilities that came with it. Not that she was aware of, at any rate.
She spoke with Zordon about the problem.
Like before, he told her that if she chose to leave, then he would support her the way he had supported Jason, Trini, Zack and Kim when they moved on to do different things with their lives.
She asked him about choosing a successor and he told her not to worry about that at the moment. She needed to make the decision about her future as a Ranger independent of worrying about finding a successor. She couldn't let that convince her to stay when she would be happier leaving.
She didn't sleep much that night, thinking about the offer and weighing her choices. She had never considered becoming a professional singer, but after making that music video with Adam, she found it was something she enjoyed; something she could imagine herself doing.
She knew Adam and Rocky would be sad that she was leaving the Rangers, but she also knew that they would support her in this like they always had. It wasn't even as if she were moving halfway around the world where chances were they would end up losing contact.
She would only be moving to Los Angeles. She would be able to come home for visits. A two-hour long conversation with her parents left them supporting her in whatever she decided. Her mom had some family in LA who would be willing to let her stay with them until she could get her feet under her. Her parents' only stipulation was that she had to finish high school, no matter what she ended up deciding.
As she got ready for school the next morning, she looked at herself in the mirror and nodded once, decisively. She would take the contract. She would say yes.
