For the Love of a Sibling:

Goggles

"I'm leaving, Shinya, so don't do anything stupid," Takuya called as he headed towards the front door.

He stopped by the kitchen chair where he had left his hat hanging on the post. He put in on his head and immediately took it off when it didn't feel right. He looked at the hat and quickly realized his goggles were missing from their usual perch, and he hadn't taken them off the hat earlier.

"Shinya!"

"What?"

"Where are my goggles?" Takuya yelled as he stormed into Shinya's room

"Well funny story about that…" Shinya replied nervously as his brother glared at him

"Spill it."

"Well um see I kinda broke them," Shinya replied as he nervously played with his hands

"You did what? You know those goggles are important to me Shinya."

Takuya came dangerously close to Shinya causing him to let out a meep

"I'll get you a new pair I promise," Shinya desperately bargained

All a sudden Takuya just let out an exasperated sigh, and his angry face just melted away.

"Let me see them?"

"What?"

"Let me see them, the goggles," Takuya replied holding out his hand.

Shinya walked over to his desk and pulled out the rectangular goggles and the two popped out eye pieces. He placed them in Takuya's hands who quickly studied them

"They aren't broken, Shinya."

"They aren't?" Shinya asked hesitantly

"Nope, these pieces just pop right back in," Takuya replied as he popped them back into place good as new.

Relief swept over Shinya's face at the sight of the fixed goggles

"You know what? Keep 'em their yours now," Takuya told his brother as he slipped the goggles over his brother's head and let them dangle around his neck

"Really? But I thought these were your most prized possession?"

"They are but now it's time for you to have them, but you have to get your own hat 'cause I'm keeping mine."

Takuya ruffled Shinya's hair before leaving the younger's room. He grabbed his hat once again and placed it on his head before heading out the door to meet of with his friends later. Boy wouldn't they be surprised by his lack of goggles.
