I own nothing.

I don't even like this that much but I'm posting it any way. I just want to get to know Marlene better, this would be better described as character exercise.

She stared at the pattern, a fiery phoenix in flight permanently painted onto her creamy skin. It was situated proudly on her left forearm, a horrible twisted mockery of the noble bird and the death another mark could bring. It ached and burned still, but that seemed fitting in the moment.
She sat their tracing the intricate flicks and licks of the sinister ink as she waited for the world to catch her up, daring karma to call her bluff and kill her off, it would be well deserved really, no one should mock war and death. But she did it anyway, perhaps it would take everyone's egos down a notch, they were all a bit too pleased with Dumbledore and futile teachings of love, he should give it a rest now, every one should have the privilege to hate. Or maybe she just wanted to insult everyone, just another fuck you added to a whole line of others because she did in fact- no matter how many times they all denied it- hate people. In general. And maybe it was just another sad plea for attention because she too felt a great amount of pride well up inside her at the thought of being a part of something as good and as (she selects her word with sour amusement) pure as the order. And the rest of the order with out a shadow of a doubt would be mortified and disgusted with her and Dumbledore would look at her with a patronisingly disappointed stare, like she didn't know what the tattoo symbolised and she didn't understand the troubled psychology behind her reasoning- she did, she was a screwed up kid, but she got it. Then again she was far past caring and little bit too pleased with the whole affair to give a damn.

Please review if you liked it, hated it etc etc
