The Wedding

She looks ahead of her and sees Snow making her way down the aisle. All eyes are on her, the princess of the kingdom on her father's big day. Regina feels slightly relieved that the attention is mostly on Snow, this is hardly a special day for her and she fears that it is written all over her face. As Regina makes her way down the aisle tears start to well up in her eyes. That should be Daniel waiting for her at the alter. She shouldn't be in this huge, extravagant gown. She should be in a simple white dress on a countryside somewhere with her handsome stable boy waiting to spend the rest of their lives together. As she arrives at the alter, Leopold looks at her with confusion.
"Are you all right?" He whispers, confused at the tears escaping from his future Queen's eyes.
She looks up at him. Of course she's not all right! She is about to become the Queen of a kingdom, the wife to a man three times her age. She is about to get a daughter who is not only the reason her Daniel was killed, but is merely a few years younger then her. How could anyone believe that she was okay.
"I'm just happy" She responds with a forced smile. She then glances down as Leopold grabs her hands but as she looks back up she is greeted with her dead lovers face. Daniel smiles at her as she smiles back at him.
"Regina. My Regina. I have loved you from the moment I saw you. You were riding and you were so happy and full of life and laughter, I had never seen something so beautiful before." Tears start to build up in his eyes, while Regina smiles through tears already streaming down her face.
"I knew from that moment that I wanted to spend the rest of my life making you feel that way I feel whenever I'm with you. You are so strong and loving and I will love you forever and I will dedicate the rest of my life to making you happy." She smiles up at him.
"and do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, in sickness and in health, till death do you part?" Regina is snapped back into reality and she is met with Leopold's face.
She struggles at first but eventually chokes out in a faint whisper words she always thought she would be saying to her handsome stable boy. "I do."
