Imprinting. It was something that the werewolves had different feelings on. Some may hate it, but once they meet their imprint their opinion quickly changes. They suddenly love imprinting and tell others how wonderful it is. Soon they are all happy but they seem to care more about their imprint than anything else in the world. If it comes down to it, there is a good chance that the imprint will be saved and the other person wont.
There is a darker side to imprinting that most don't see. Leah sees it and Jake saw it. Unfortunately once he imprinted he thought that it was the best thing in the world. Leah still saw it, she saw that loved ones became former loved ones. The girlfriend that the wolf claimed to love was ditched for the imprint.
But what if imprinting is not what everyone thinks it is? You see the wolves theory for imprinting is that they find both their soul mate and the best genetic match, so that they can have the strongest shape-shifter children.
But what if the point to imprinting is much more sinister? What if imprinting isn't magic, it's a curse? What if imprinting isn't made to find a soul mate but to keep you from finding one? What if imprinting is supposed to keep you from finding your real 'love of your life' without you ever knowing? Well guess what….it is. And everyone is about to find out.
