A HOSPITAL VIGIL.

Luke lays battered and unconicous in his hospital bed. His boyfriend noah sits by his side. Noah looks at his partner's face. How he

had come to love that face, the tossled blond hair, those wonderful eyes that sparkled when he was happy and were like

thunderclouds when he was upset,

Noah's mind went back to their first kiss. That kiss began a new exciting chapter in his life. Every touch , every kiss since then

had made Noah want more. He wanted more kisses he wanted to wake up in lukes warm embrace. But for now he only

wanted one thing. that one thing was for Luke to open his eyes!

However in the back of his mind and in the darkest part of his heart was an ugly dark wish. He wanted his father to pay for what

he had tried to do to . Noah's heart filled with rage and anger when he thought of his fathers action.

How he hated his father at this moment. His father had insisted that he and Luke join him on a fishing trip. If only noah had

not gone for that tackle box, Before that the trip had started so well, He and Luke had shared tender looks and playful

moments. And the two had shared unabashed kisses.

Then the unthinkable happened , his father had tried to kill Luke. He had actually pointed a gun and had fired it at the

young man. Noah had rushed to Lukes side where the young man had fallen. He gathered his boyfriend tenderly in his

arms. As Luke lay bleeding, Noah through his tears had noticed that Luke was so still so still.

When Luke finally got taken to the hospital, the Doctor would not allow Noah to go in to Lukes hospital room. stating only

family members were allowed.

Noah angerly protested ' I AM HIS BOYFRIEND! i WANT TO BE WITH HIM! HE NEEDS ME!" Noah then pushed his way

in to Luke.

Once there Noah had flatly refused to leave his boyfriends bedside. He held Lukes hand in his. Noah brought the limp hand

to his lips and tenderly kissed it. He looked once more at the still face." Oh Luke please please don't leave me ! Please wake

up. I love you. Don't let my father win, " Noah buries his face in Lukes chest as he sobs." Please Don't leave Me I Love you."

Slowly Luke opens his eyes and looks down and sees the head of the person he loves most in the world. " Noa... Noah??

I love you too."

Noah lifts his head and looks at Lukes face. " Oh Luke. Oh thank god ! " Gently Noah stokes his loves face. and then

kisses the hand that his still holds. I am soo store for what my father tried to do. And I promise He will never hurt you again ."

Luke smiles wearly and pulls his boyfriend in for a soft lovers kiss. When they come up for air, Luke pats the bed beside

him. Noah weakly protests " I don't want to hurt you." Luke smiles and shakes his head. "I know and you won't" Noah gently

lays down beside him as not to give luke any additional pain. and puts his arms around his boyfriend tenderly. The tow

young men lay together in each other's embrace. They soon fell asleep feeling safe after their ordeal. Each vowing never to go on

another fishing trip.
