"What will it be honey," the bartender said.
"Give me the strongest thing you've got," Pearl said resting her hand at her forehead. Pearl Fey was, right now, depressed, which was not new to her, ever since she broke up with Trucy she became a frequent customer at the bar on the weekends, she just drank her troubles away. How she got her though is a long story.
It was three years after she started dating Trucy when they decided to move in together while both went to college. Trucy was the love of Pearl's life and she still remembers how beautiful she looked at anytime and she remembers how the moon would always give her this angel-like glow. She was the sweetest thing out there and only really ever thought of her. She still remembered the day they finally moved in together, how after they got the couch set up they were so happy to have finally gotten it done, how she went over to kiss Trucy, how amazing her lips felt that day, how she just couldn't stop kissing Trucy, how delegate Trucy's hands felt on her skin, and how they made love for the first time that day. Those where all memories she wished she could forget, but no matter how much she drank those memories remained clear as day to her.
"So honey why are you here today," the bartender asked, handing Pearl her drink.
"I broke up with my girlfriend," Pearl said to the bartender, "you must be new here because if you weren't you would know why I'm here."
"I am," the bartender said.
"Great another person to tell my story to," Pearl said.
"That's what I'm here for honey," the bartender said.
Pearl took a sip of her drink and began to recite the same story she had already told the every bartender who worked there, "Let's see it was a year and a half ago, I had been living with my girlfriend for 2 and a half years at that point when we got in a fight. It was a stupid fight, I was mad because her career as a magician took too much time away from our relationship, It's all my fault, I know, I was being selfish and, well, nothing justifies leaving her, she was too perfect. After the fight I pack up my bags and left. The thing is, I still love her, I miss her, I miss her smile, I miss the way she laughed, I miss her magic tricks, I miss the way she would always want to cuddle, I miss the way I would fall asleep in her arms, I miss how soft her hands were, I miss how every morning she'd kiss me and tell me she loved me, I miss just talking to her, I-I," Pearl then began crying as she put her head on the counter.
"There there honey," the bartender said as she rubbed Pearl's back. Pearl eventually stopped crying and downed the rest of her drink.
"Thanks for listening," Pearl said to the bartender, "give me another drink please."
"I'll pay for this one," a woman's voice said from behind. Pearl felt like she heard the voice before but wasn't quite sure.
"Thanks," Pearl said not looking at the girl, "your voice sounds familiar, have we meet before?"
"I'm just an old friend," the girl said. Pearl looked up at the girl but couldn't make up her face because it was so dark in the bar. The girl continued, "Here I got you something Pearls." The girl then pulled flowers out of her sleeve and gave them to Pearl, they where lilacs, Pearl's favorite. She recognized who it was now.
"Trucy," Pearl said excitedly, "Is that you dear?" Trucy nodded her head to say yes. Pearl was overwhelmed with joy getting to see the person she loved more then anything right in front of her in what felt like forever. She hugged Trucy and began to cry into her shoulder. Trucy held her tight and kissed her on the head.
"Pearls," Trucy said sweetly, "would you like to come home?"
"Yes," replied Pearl almost instantly.
"I love you Pearls," Trucy said.
"I love you too Trucy," Pearls said looking up at the love of her life as she gave her a kiss.
