I: The Calm Before The Next Storm
A year already passed after the destruction that took place at Cross Academy caused by Rido Kuran-a deranged pureblood who thrived to gain more power and her sister's blood at all cost which flowed in Yuuki's veins. After he was killed for good, it has been fully revealed of Yuuki's real identity as the Kuran Princess and Kaname's significant other; the latter decided to take her with him for a break in order to fully adjust in her destined role alongside him.
Cross Academy was not entirely the same, many alterations were made to fix the school's structures and some Day Class students now became abhorred with the idea of Night Class around due to being vampires but there are others who are still okay with it. Nevertheless, despite the undivided opinions of students, parents and other people about Cross Academy, no nightmare has befallen the town again.
…Not yet.
Councilor Wakaba stood straight in front of the tall window glass pane of his office, serious brown eyes staring at the dark gray sky outside and small droplets of rain that began falling down.
"I am going to take my leave soon, dear" The woman inside his office stated after taking the last sip of her coffee on the table. "This hunt might take a while but I will try to return as soon as possible"
"Understood" was the Councilor's only statement, he did not bother turning around to her as his face remained deep in thoughts.
The black haired woman frowned, "Yakuto, is there something wrong?" It was evident in the man's tone that something was bothering him.
"Did you know exactly the reason why I agreed to Kaien's plan of making vampires and humans coexist, Sakura?" Finally, the Councilor turned around and faced the beautiful woman sitting before his desk.
Sakura Wakaba found his question odd, "You think it's interesting and a great step to a much more successful evolution"
"It's also a means of protection," Yakuto said grimly, "Our alliance with Kaien and other vampires he's in good terms with will be enough to keep us alive"
Sakura stood up, her dark eyes full of confusion, "Dear, what precisely are you pertaining to? Is this about our daughter?"
"You know that we cannot hide forever, Sakura, sooner or later someone will know and what's worse is the truth itself will be the one to look for us here in Japan" The Councilor almost sounded desperate and scared as if something underneath was slowly coming back to the surface.
It finally dawned on Sakura about what her husband is talking about but instead of being scared too her face contorted no fear. "If it comes down to it, I will do anything to protect our daughter, we will. It's too early to assume such thing will happen but remember that we are no mortals that go with the mainstream, we are more than that"
Councilor Wakaba sighed heavily, "You are right, I am sorry for acting so strangely out of the blue. I am but worried for her well-being too"
"I understand" Sakura neared her husband and placed a gentle touch on his face, "This news we gathered yesterday from our colleagues in Europe is truly terrible but it will only conquer us if we will let it so"
"No matter then, there's no need for Sayori to know"
"No, she doesn't need to" Sakura shook her head. "She will live the way she wants to and we shall not disturb her with this news. We will protect her in any ways that we can"

The bell rang at 4 pm that Monday and Yori could mostly hear the reliefs from her classmates as the last and probably least favorite subject of their class finally ended. Although Kaito Takamiya was hot as hell, his personality is kind of the contrary and his teaching approach is also strict that made most of them in class cower in fear. Not her though, sure he was really intimidating but Yori found no reason to feel intimidation from him.
"I think I am gonna go get something to eat" Her classmate Nadeshiko stated as she stretched, "The lesson today made me hungry, all the food I ate at lunch disappeared quickly. You wanna come with me to the cafeteria, Sayori-san?"
Yori also stood up after placing her book, notebook, and pen back inside her bag, "No I am fine thanks for the offer but I will go to the library today"
"Ah okay then, you sure are heck lot studious, no wonder you are continuously on top, heck you could even beat Prez if you really want to" Nadeshiko commented, smiling.
Yori waved her hand, "No don't say that he might not find it pleasing" She added a chuckle.
"Well best be going now, I'll see you tomorrow, Sayori-san!" The young female in braids bid her goodbye before walking away and out of the classroom.
Yori patiently waited for all of her classmates leave first before making a move herself but before she could step out of the door, the young professor sitting behind his desk called for her attention.
"Wakaba-san?" Kaito Takamiya called in his usual neutral tone, without looking up from the paper he's looking at.
Yori turned to her heel and walked towards the desk, "Yes, Sensei?"
"How're you doing?" The dark brown haired man finally looks up, meeting her gaze straight.
Yori remained composed and passive as she stared back at him, "I am not sick or unwell if that's what you mean, Takamiya-sensei"
"You really surprise me most of the time" He laughed a bit and shook his head, "I don't know if it's just me or you are really calm as hell"
The caramel haired young woman tilted her head, "Will it do me good to act anxious? And on what grounds too?"
Sighing, he answered her, "Honestly, I did not think you will be able to adjust quickly after everything that took place last year in this school" Kaito leaned back on his seat as he went on, "Many freaked out after knowing the true nature of the Night Class…" That he witnessed himself for he wasn't in Cross Academy as a teacher alone, that was a mere disguise only actually, but a powerful individual in the same line as Yagari and Zero. "And until this present, there are still pressing matters that need to be address related to the incident"
Yori gave him a small smile, "That is true sensei that what happened is truly life-changing for most of us, however, Yuuki is my best friend and I accept her wholeheartedly for whoever she is. I also do not see anything good at all if I will make a big deal out of something I am not supposed to stick my nose into"
"I got your point," Kaito nodded, "You really are smart Wakaba-san, you don't fail to amaze me with your composure" He pulled out a thin handout to her, "Now if you don't mind, can you help me and get this to the one who really needs to move on and carry on with his life" His expression slowly contorted to annoyance, "Not because he's a Hunter and shit, doesn't mean he has the privilege to not continue his school anymore"
Knowing who Kaito is pertaining to, Yori could not help but stifle a laugh. "No worries Takamiya-sensei, I will let him know and do my best to get him back to class" It is true that the lilac-haired Vampire Hunter hasn't been around ever since Yuuki left the school, although he showed up in the past it became like a once-in-a-blue-moon kind of thing and not in the classroom at all.
Yori thought if they were an ordinary school without the vampires, her friend will definitely get his ass kicked out of education quick.
"Thank you so much Wakaba-san, I wish you luck in persuading him and I really hope for a successful outcome," Kaito said as she was on her way out again.
