Keep calm, its a friendship fic
My tears won't stop falling from eyes while I walk into the sea of people. Even if I disappear into the crowd, my sadness won't disappear.
At a little convenience store, I saw him with her. I saw my boyfriend; Mick Campbell and one of my closes friends; Joy Mercer. Their arms linked together while they happily shop. At first I didn't think any of it but when I saw him kiss her on the lips, I ran.
My heart is swaying while it looks like a prism, I wanted to believe more. My vision is starting to get blurry, as the color of love starts to change. In this world, there's just one important color of love.
How far will I have to walk before these tears dry up? There are happy looking couples on a billboard on a street corner, the sight if that just made me want to sob even harder.
I got tired and found myself in the park, I sat on the bench and tried to call his phone but it only went to his voice mail. I wanted to hear his voice, I wanted to hear an explanation but I already knew the reason.
He got tired of me, who wouldn't? I'm Mara Jaffray. Boring, sensible, unsporty, geeky Mara. Still he had no right to cheat on me!
I wondered how long of our relationship this past weeks were lies?
What color are lies? A mixed color? The color of words even so, it's still a vivid visible ray of loveliness. Even if I pretended that I didn't see anything, the color won't change. The color that's dying my feelings now is the color of a painful love.
I felt someone sit next to me and put their arm around me; I turned my head and was shock to see Eddie Miller; one of my housemate and closes guy friend's.
"What are you doing here?" I croak my voice still hoarse from all the crying.
"I was in the café across from here" he explained. I turned my head and saw the little café just in front of the park. It looked old yet beautiful, green ivy growing from its walls, outside. "I saw you crying and just wanted to see if you're alright"
"I see" I replied
"What's wrong?" he nudges my shoulder slightly.
"Nothing" I answered. He looked at me, not believing my answer and I couldn't resist but tell him what happened.
"What do you plan to do?" He asks after I told him the story.
"I don't know" my face stained with dry tears.
"Are you going to confront them?"
"I don't know" I repeated, I noticed his arm was still around my shoulders "Should I?"
"Well, yeah" he removes his arm from my shoulders.
"You know what's funny?" I ask turning to face him
"What?" he ask, confusion growing on his face.
"I don't really care anymore" I stated with a small smile.
Confusion was all over his face now "I thought you loved the dude?"
"I thought so too" I replied "But can love forgive just about anything?"
"No, I guess" he answered.
"People's feelings are always suddenly fickle, and they turn red, blue, and yellow, white or black" I stated "It's loves final coat of paint, you could say"
"Okay, not sure how we got to colors" he sighed "But whatever makes you feel better"
I laughed slightly and he joined me.
The sky started to turn dark; I and Eddie decided to go back to the house.
