This is kind of what happened right before my Eragon/Eldest story's sequel started. It's mainly fluff, but it is a MAJOR spoiler for anyone who has not read Jade and Ruzac: The Ever Weeping Rider.
So if you like OCxOC fluff…
Read on!

"Ane," Ruzac whispered as he passed the tombstones that led up to a hilltop in the cemetery.
His boots sank a bit in the damp mud but he kept trudging up the hill until he reached the silver grave marker on the top.
"I brought you flowers," the rider sat beside the stone and leaned against it a bit. He set the flowers – they were silver roses – at the base of it.
"It's a beautiful sunset, don't you think?" he asked while watching red-edged clouds drift above the huge mountain of Farthen Dur, "Even though we can't really see the sun setting it's still nice, hmm?"
Ruzac was glad that the cemetery was quiet and that no one was around. Eventually it grew dark, but the young man still talked to his deceased friend. He sat near the stone he had crafted by hand for his life's love. The now usually cold and distant man, who had always been no more than a boy pretending to be an adult, was still talking as if Ane were there with him.
"And Ane," he finished, it was now nearly three o'clock in the morning, "I love you," he whispered.
A warm breeze blew the second he said that, making a few stray tears fall from Ruzac's eyes as he remembered the last time he had held Ane…when she had died. He could still remember when the life seeped out from the girl's eyes, when her soul detached itself from her body.
Wiping his eyes, Ruzac stood up and faced the grave for a few moments before turning and retreating back down the hill with nothing to light his way. He didn't need a light, since he had walked the same trail nearly every day in the past two years.
When he got to the bottom, the rider turned to look back at the hilltop one last time. He may had just been tired, or his eyes may had been playing tricks on him, but at that moment Ruzac saw the faint outline of Ane, standing beside the white tombstone.
And she whispered something Ruzac would never forget.
"I love you too."

Yep, fluff, did you like this one at all? If you don't I don't blame you – it's 1:15 in the morning (like it usually is when I write chapters for my stories) so this is probably not the best I can do. The thing that drove me to write this little oneshot is some music I got off iTunes:
Lotus – by Secret Garden
Motherland – Single Gun Theory
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon "The Eternal Vow" – Chen Xie Yang, Shanghai National Orchestra & Yo-Yo Ma
:) those three songs contrast deeply with what I usually listen to (Sum 41, Simple Plan, and Nickelback ect.)
