Disclaimer: I do not own FFX or FFX-2 or anything affiliated with it or else, Lulu and Wakka woulda kissed in FFX-2, and their probably woulda been more fluff between them and one or the other woulda been in Rikku's POV and the other woulda been in Lulu's POV. Lulu's POV sounds better in FFX and Rikku's woulda been hilarious in FFX-2.

Author's Notes: This idea struck me as I was looking at FMA pictures online, and I though I should write about. Mind you I ship a different pairing then the one in this fic, but it sounds like it should be so. Mind you the female is 32 in FFX-2 and the man would be 44 in FFX-2.

Midnight Musings

A woman sat waiting for the pain to come. She sat in a bed with her lover to her right; he was slowly nodding off to sleep, ever once in a while. She was starting to get worried and when the first wave of pain overtook her, she yelped suddenly. The man to her right woke up instantly, and went to fetch the doctor, as quickly as he could muster. The doctor on hand and a bunch of local village women came rushing into the room. The doctor told the man that he had to leave the room; an old tradition among traditions, which he sadly and hesitantly obliged by.

Hours of sitting outside in the dark of night were what the man had in store, besides his first-born. He was slightly worried. Hell, he was scared shitless. He was especially worried about his lover; I mean she was only 14, he being at the age of 25. He had felt really bad at the beginning for falling in love with a minor, but she had told him that she didn't care, but he knew he would be shunned for it. He winced again as he heard her shriek into the night.

He heard a thud somewhere in one of the other huts. The man glanced up as two young boys, around his lover's age walk up to him and asks who had screamed. He answered that it was no one they knew, and then they went back to their hut, after bidding the swordsman goodnight.

A few more hours of getting colder by the minute went by and the screams stopped, and the doctor walked out saying that the man could go in if he liked.

The man walked up beside her and noticed she looked very exhausted, and worn out. He grabbed the moist cloth on the side table to dab at her sweaty forehead.

"Thanks," she murmured. She glanced down at the small silver haired child in her arms. "What should we name her, Auron?" she asked, her voice back to its normal strength.

"I don't know. I'm not good with naming. What do you think we should name her, Lulu," Auron said blatantly, not well with names himself.

The ebony haired woman looked up into Auron's eyes. "How about Paine?"

"Paine? Hmm…I like it," Auron replied.

"Well, I need to feed her, so get out for now," she said plainly.

"Well, don't get too attached we already planned out what we're going to do with her. I'm going to take her to Bevelle with me and give her to an old friend and afterward I'll head out on my journey with Braska, and you can live your life to the fullest here in Besaid," Auron reminded.

"Yes, I remember," she replied a little bit sadly. "It's just I have gotten attached, I mean these past eight or so months I've had nothing to think about then our child. I kind of wish we could keep it."

"Maybe when you're older and maybe with someone who deserves your love," Auron said looking away from her scarlet optics. "Good night, Lulu." And with that Auron left the hut, since he was staying at the temple, to make sure no suspicion arose about him and Lulu.

Lulu stared at the flap of the door for a moment more before gazing at her newborn lovingly. "No matter what happens, I will always love you my little Paine," she said and drifted off to sleep.

Fin

So how'd ya like it? Sorry in advance for anything you didn't like about, but if you think about it does fit that Paine could be the offspring of Lulu and Auron. R&R!!
